At Tesla's Supercharger stations, the company says you can add roughly 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. With its odometer now sitting at 16,258, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER (Basic Vehicle Limited) warranty until September 2028 or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)! Additionally, the battery pack and drivetrain components of this zero-emission electric liftback will be covered by the remainder of the Battery and Drive Unit Limited Warranty until 2032 or 100,000 miles! These warranties cover the repair or replacement necessary to correct defects in the materials or workmanship of any parts manufactured or supplied by Tesla, which occur under normal use. Standard niceties include power-adjustable front seats, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 17-inch central touch screen, a rear-seat 8-inch touch screen, navigation, forward and side collision warning, lane-departure warning and a 22-speaker, 960-watt audio system. Line it up at a drag strip and it'll outsprint pretty much anything on the road today. Tesla's top trim level, the Plaid gets maximum performance via an upgraded battery system and an additional motor but otherwise has the same features as the base model. Total output stands at 1,020 horsepower. Edmunds' testing shows the Plaid can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds, while the EPA says it can provide up to 396 miles of range on a full charge and when equipped with the car's 19-inch wheels. Going with the 21-inch wheels drops that estimate to 348 miles. Edmunds put this latter Model S Plaid through our real-world EV range test; it made it 345 miles, which is among the longest distances they've observed. It's got an EPA estimated consumption rate of 33 kWh/100 miles. In Edmunds' real-world range testing, it had a slightly more efficient consumption rate of 32.1 kWh/100 miles. That's more range than just about every EVs they've tested except the Model 3 Long Range.
