There’s a good reason people don’t like used car businesses. Of course the buying process was smooth but that’s where the easy stuff stopped. Decided to take the SUV to the make dealership for a full diagnostics 4 months after purchase and there was a laundry list of issues (tie rods, axle, breaks, drive belts all needed replacing including a sedan key fob programmed in. Lazy work on the dealers part. On top of this, I had requested the $1000 GAP be refunded because I planned to refinance and get a better rate. I was told this process takes 4-7 weeks. At week 8, after having been put on hold for 30+ minutes any time I called and trying by multiple times to speak to someone about this, I went to the shop and spoke to the manager Lou who stated Absolute hadn’t received the check. The insurance company stated Absolute had cleared the check 4 weeks prior to so I was lied to. On the 10th week after I canceled the GAP they said they mailed the check to the lender (which I am still waiting on). Dealerships make money on the GAP and interest rates, hence the unnecessary delays. Needless to say they fit the stereotype. More
