Buying my Acura from STEVE VERGA was an AMAZING experience. His professionalism is balanced by his friendliness and grace. The Service department however has continued to make my life considerably difficult since the beginning. A) They up-sell EVERYTHING. It has gotten to the point of a running joke between me and my friends who go there secondary to the warranty coverage. We have had our cars checked out for specific issues prior to arriving at the Valley Stream service department only to have Acura add on a half-dozen "needed" services each time. I'm sure this commonplace for all dealerships...but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. B) They incorrectly installed the rack and pinion (under warranty) which ruined my steering and handling. Granted, i didn't bring it back them when i started having steering issues as i don't trust them...so i am partially at fault for dragging the issue on. C) After correcting issue 'B'.....without admitting fault of course....they incorrectly performed a wheel alignment which was blatantly off by their own computer's specs. When i questioned it, Ivan gave me a bogus answer that was ridiculous enough to get two unrelated customers laughing simultaneously. I insisted that the alignment be perfected...and it was...after arguing with them. What was "impossible" became possible with a little focus and diligence. D) After correcting 'C', they addressed my Navigation issues which were straightforward: it worked fine once it initiated, but there was a delay in booting up. I asked them to "CHECK IT OUT." I did not consent to a repair. I was not informed of the risks/benefits/alternatives to the request. After they evaluated it, the entire Navigation system is now non-functional...along with my clock and audio controls. Had i known that they were going to assassinate the entire system....or had i known that there was a risk of such...i would have simply dealt with the delay. I believe they intentionally sabotaged the system assuming my after-market warranty program would replace it....they did not. After the fact, they want $4,500 to replace the system.....a system that was functional when i brought it to them. I hope i can get some justice within the legal system over the next few months....because unfortunately ethics alone is not enough to drive this Service department. J.C More

Steve Verga is extremely rude and unprofessional. The people at this dealership are very deceptive, definitely not to be trusted. In one instance when I pointed out that they had overcharged me, Steve denied it and gave me a bogus explanation for the charge. After I went home and reviewed the paperwork, I realized that his excuse did not make sense and called him on it. He told me he had to speak to the Finance guy and then I got a check in the mail without a follow up call or apology from anyone...guess they were upset that I caught them. This is just one of the nightmares I had to deal with at this dealership, it would take forever to go through my entire story of schemes that Steve and his team ran on me. I definitely wouldn't recommend this dealer, they are big time scam artists!!! More

They dont really care about their customers, is a true assessment of this dealership. It has been 3 weeks since I bought a car from them. The full paperwork has not arrived. I have purchased 4 Acura’s from Steve Verga he was a salesman at the old facility on Merrick. (I convinced my fiancé to trade his Mercedes and go for an Acura!) I have always trusted his word. People tell me I shouldn't be so trusting so I decided to go to Rally to see if what they said was much different from Steve. They initially gave me a price higher than Steve for the RDX and the trade-in lower than Steve's. When I was ready to leave the Manager came over and gave me a figure $300 less that Steve's quote if I bought it there. I never mentioned Steve or going to VS Acura. However by my address they knew I lived in VS and made some really horrible comments about VS Acura. The salesman went as far as to say they probably wouldn't make it. Meaning the dealership would go bankrupt. He made references about VS not caring about their customers and that is why their facility looks like crap. Their negative comments and verbal attacks made me step back. My fiancé was very turned off by their comments. I walked out and called Steve. He NEVER said one bad thing about Rally. He matched their price and I bought my car from Steve. I have never met a better salesman than Steve. The other salespersons there are nice but lack Steve's finesse and etiquette. They make comments that I feel are inappropriate at times. The purpose of this letter is to tell you about how valuable I think Steve is to your dealership and how Rally could learn a thing or 2 from VS. You don't need to speak bad about another dealer you both sell Acura. Your VS facility is really bad and you should consider moving or renovating. The facility has heating issues, AC issues, and the place looks run down. I hope VS Acura is around for a long time because I can’t imagine getting a car from anyone else. More

My recent buy of acura TL was a bad experience. They told me some price but when i reached to take delivery different prices were on the contract. When I walked into the dealership back in 2002 (My first time at an Acura Dealership) - I expected professional and personal sales experiance. My expectations were immediatelly realized and I was very pleased with sales process. (no pushy salesman, no nagging phone calls, - just pleasant, knowledgeable salesman with competetive pricing) I've bought my last two cars from Acura of Valley Stream, and I continue to service my cars at this dealership.
