To me, at a car dealership, the quality of the service department is key. Nothing against them but the sales people seem to come and go. Service after the sale matters ... especially in West Texas. Because of this service department, and Deborah McCoy and her team, I have purchased my last three vehicles at Honda of Abilene and convinced at least two other people to do the same. Confused I’m confused by my visit to Abilene Honda, I went for an oil change the first oil change of this vehicles owned life and was told the oil plug was lea I’m confused by my visit to Abilene Honda, I went for an oil change the first oil change of this vehicles owned life and was told the oil plug was leaking upon arrival. I have never had an issue with oil left where I parked and never had the oil changed or anything services prior to this visit so either Honda them selves during manufacturing messed up the oil drain plug installation which is doubtful or I was lied to about the process for one reason or another. If the tech over tightened, stript, or damaged the plug or pan during this oil change I would expect to be told the truth and if not I would like to know why I was told my car was leaking oil. Side note I worked for a dealership for 6 years as a lead tech and we never installed gps tracking on new vehicle purchases only on used zero down bad credit vehicles yet after my oil change I noticed a gps tracker was on the lower side of the driver dash. This doesn’t bother me because if I can’t afford the vehicle I would turn it in however I don’t appreciate the feeling that they installed something of such lack of trust without atleast explaining it to me. I understand these are immobilizers in the event a buyer refuses to pay and refuses to turn in but since I am buying this vehicle I think I should have the right to know that if I tamper with the system I risk immobilizing my vehicle not just installing it and ignoring the responsibility of explaining it to me. I also don’t understand how a 2.0liter 4 cylinder Honda takes 75$ worth of oil and filter using house bulk synthetic oil I could understand that cost if I was putting royal purple in my vehicle but 75$ for cheap syn oil dealer filter and service is a bit pricy for a economy vehicle More
