Amos Minter's Thunderbirds is a unique niche dealership and arguably among the best in the world at restoring and servicing the 55-57 two-seater T-Birds. I had always dreamed of owning one of these little and arguably among the best in the world at restoring and servicing the 55-57 two-seater T-Birds. I had always dreamed of owning one of these little cars since childhood, and when I finally decided to buy one back in 1992, I went for the best: Amos MInter. I remember visiting his shop at that time, and was amazed at not only at his selection of cars, but of his knowledge and advice. I picked a gorgeous one-owner California ’56 T-Bird. Amos walked me through the restoration choices personally with sound advice on how best to spend my money. I decided on a top level, frame-ON restoration, a color change to peacock blue, and a list of various upgrades such as power steering, power brakes, and wire wheels among others. I felt like I was in a dealership back in 1956 picking out a new, custom ordered car. Over the ensuing 4 months, he provided me frequent updates on the work allowing me to feel part of the restoration process. The car was delivered by truck to my home in Chicago, and since then I have continued to win countless 1st place awards and Best of Show ratings at almost every car show I’ve entered over the past 18 years. I admit to feeling a little guilty each time I accept another trophy since all the praise belongs to Amos and his team for their extraordinary work. Despite being a constant award winner, it is not just a “garage paperweight” but rather a great driver too and one I’ve enjoyed logging over 6,000 head-turning miles in. After 10 years, it started to show little bits of wear and lack of its original luster. In 2002, I sent it back to Dallas for a 10-year “face lift” by Amos and his team. He kept the car for about 6 weeks during which he brought it back to a world class show car once again. All of the advice he gave me again was spot on. We communicated multiple times back and forth on exactly what I wanted to do, and what further modifications I wanted to add. He honestly talked me out of several things that he felt were unnecessary or too expensive. He even chastised me for not having a de-humidifier in my garage even though he advised me to do it back in 1992 to avoid my chrome from pitting. When Amos dropped off the car in Chicago, it once again took my breath away. I was 101% pleased. This car has been one of the great joys of my life for me and my entire family. Over the past 18 years, we’ve had hours of pure joy driving it and many weekends with other car enthusiasts at local car shows. At those shows, one gains a real appreciation for quality restoration work, and Amos Minter’s attention to detail is easy to realize in comparison. His reputation as being among the best of the T-Bird restorers is definitely well deserved. The major auction houses like Barrett-Jackson and Mecum all know and respect his name. I would recommend Amos Minter to anyone who is interested in purchasing a 55-57 Thunderbird, and Amos will deliver exactly what you want: a solid every day driver or a frame-off 100 point Concours d’Elegance showstopper. It only depends on your purpose and your pocketbook. His prices are not cheap, but you wouldn’t expect to buy a Stradivarius violin for $20 either. You get what you pay for. Amos has been honest, never over charging or over promising. Plus, Amos and his staff have always been gracious and responsive to me, always taking my phone calls and quickly answering my emails, even on trivial service questions. I’ve read some of the other reviews who have reported problems, and I must say that I can’t have been more pleased with being a Minter customer. I would purchase another car from Amos and Jason in a heartbeat. More

Amos Minter is the premier dealer in the country for early Thunderbirds and other vintage Ford cars. I became aware of Amos after attending a car auction and was in the market for a 55, 56 or 57 Tbird. I made arrangements to visit to look at available cars and Amos was kind enough to spend the majority of the day with me showing me his inventory, testing driving several cars, showing me his personal collection and even treating me to lunch. I purchased an immaculate '56 Tbird and a '56 Ford Victoria hardtop like the car I had in high school. Amos' team deliverd the cars to my house in Georgia and has been in contact with me numerous times since to see how I am liking the cars and responding to various questions I've had about service topics. I only wish I lived in Dallas where I could have service performed on my cars by Amos' team. The price I paid for my cars is perhaps at the upper end of the market but I am immensely satisfied with the quality of the restoration on both vehicles and the after-sale support has been terrific. I consider that I've made a friend that shares my love of the classis Tbirds and Fords and I unequivocally recommend Amos Minter's dealership to anyone who is looking for an investment quality classic car. I have purchased 3 cars from the Minter Auto Group, 55-57 Thunderbirds. The first was a highly restored 1957 Thunderbird. The car was the special E series. This car was featured in several collector books du Thunderbirds. The first was a highly restored 1957 Thunderbird. The car was the special E series. This car was featured in several collector books during my ownership. The second car I purchased was a 1966 Ford pick up. Red and original. The third was the best. For a birthday present for my wife,Amos found and delivered to my door step a 2002 Thunderbird. Knowing my wife would like a yellow one, Amos found a brand new Yellow Edition. To this day we still talk of how my wife looked when she saw her new car being unloaded from Amos's enclosed trailer. I have never known a family who is more devoted to their business then the Minter Family. Their word is better than any contract could ever be. A real rare quality today! I purchased a 55 T-bird from Amos Minter. He represented the car as a dry climate ground up restoration. He said the car was investment quality worth more than the sale price of $36,500.00. The car turned o the car as a dry climate ground up restoration. He said the car was investment quality worth more than the sale price of $36,500.00. The car turned out to be a rust bucket worth half the purchase price. Minter would not take the car back, and invited me to sue him. Minter is a thief and a crook. More
Very deceptive advertising pratices. They infer that they have restored the cars they are selling, but when pressed for more information, they cannot provide clear answers as to where they came from or what have restored the cars they are selling, but when pressed for more information, they cannot provide clear answers as to where they came from or what they did to improve the vehicle. Car was delivered with a dead battery and unsafe brakes after the Minters were asked to do a safety check and insure the car was reliable and not subject to breakdowns. Would not recommed this 1955-1957T-Bird dealer to anyone unless a very knowledgeable person went along with a prospective buyer. More
