Ron Sharpee was very patient and informative on my 2 Camaro purchases and Ron was also helped with the financing on my recent Silverado purchase. Shawn Eberwein was very helpful and pleasant to deal with on my recent Silverado purchase. I would not want to leave out the great service that I have received from Alex Arteaga (and others) in service department. Alex was very helpful and informative during with visits to the service department for service and a new tire purchase for my 2014 Camaro. I was provided with courtesy transportation on several of my visits when needed. Thanks to everyone at Andy Mohr in Plainfield. More
Hidden Fees, Smoker, Mistakes **Update** I purchased a 2014 CRV from them in Feb 2018. Andre was my sales rep. Joel was the finance guy. First off they were not that customer-centric during the purchase. They seemed intent on getting me financing when I told them from the very beginning that I had a credit union and was not interested in them trying to beat their rate. They kept the pressure on and I relented and they said they would have an answer in 10 minutes on whether they could do it. OK, 10 minutes is fine with me. Over an hour later, I get word that they just then found out my credit report was frozen and that they couldn't do it until the next day. So 10 minutes turned into over an hour. I reiterated that I did not want financing and just wanted to buy the car. They told me I had to come back the next day and finalize the deal. The next day and 40 minutes of driving later, I wait around for another hour only to have Joel tell me he got a better rate. I didn't even want him to keep wasting my time and I told him I wasn't interested in their financing. He got belligerent and told me that he could have finalized the deal the night before if that was the case. So 2+ hours of my time wasted and a very bad attitude by Joel. Fast forward to today when I get the title from the BMV even though Joel knew that there was a lienholder. The BMV is charging me $15 to get this corrected. I called Joel and he was his old self and basically told me that he didn't do it right but seemed surprised that I wanted the $15. I do. Also, I saw after the purchase that there was a $299 aftermarket charge. I talked to Andre by phone on March 3rd and he said it was some kind of optional etching theft deal. I never agreed to get that so he said he would check about getting this refunded. Surprise I haven't heard back from him. So when I was on the phone with Joel today I reiterated that I want that refunded and he really became even more of himself then and basically said he'd have to call me back after he got with something. Surprise, no call back. Finally, the car had been smoked in. We didn't notice it before as they had masked it of course. I should have asked I know but it still bugs me. **Update** 3/31/2018 - Out of fairness, I was refunded the $299 plus the title fee. This in no way changes my review. All it amounts to is hush money because I posted this review. The unauthorized $299 fee is a scam and dishonest. They did their best to slide it in there. Good thing I noticed. I wonder how many people don't. I have seen enough mentions in reviews to guess that Andy Mohr is probably doing this on every car they sell. Who in their right mind would pay a dealership $299 to etch their car on the off chance that it is stolen, insurance doesn't cover it and they somehow have to track it down? PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE. If you have purchased a car from this company, check your paperwork for this and other hidden fees. File a BBB complaint. Maybe that will wake them up. More
