Great experience Michael Stafford was great to deal with. We worked out the deal remotely, and I traveled over 200 miles to pick up my new Wrangler. I bought my first Jeep from Champion in 2014. Traded it in for a new model in 2018. Decided to lease this time. Mileage was not a problem because I drove about 40 mile round trip to work so travel was all in for a new model in 2018. Decided to lease this time. Mileage was not a problem because I drove about 40 mile round trip to work so travel was all local. If you lease you basically get penalized for exceeding a set amount of miles per year. In March of 2020 I took a job for a lot more money in the same field but with a different company. Instead of overseeing one location I oversee 13 locations in Indiana and Illinois. Needless to say that this requires a lot of travel. So I called Champion to see if I could trade in my leased vehicle because I know I’m going to exceed the yearly mileage limit. Keep in mind that I’ve bought/leased two vehicles for myself and one for my wife from Champion and have never missed a payment. I have called twice now and spoke to salesmen who told me that they would look into it and call me back. I have yet to receive a return phone call. To top it off both salesmen said that to get out of my lease and into a regular purchase I would incur significant costs. Doesn’t buyer loyalty account for anything? No consideration was given to the fact that a major life event was at the core of my decision. Wow!! I went to Champion with this as a loyal customer thinking I had earned a little special treatment but I guess not. Lesson learned I guess. I need a car dealer who can meet my changing needs and not be so inflexible. I guess that’s not Champion. I’ll honor my lease and pay extra for the mileage but once that is done I’m done with Champion. I need to work with salesmen who want to sell cars not wanna be lawyers who want to dwell on contract language. They are still getting my money just under different terms and conditions. I don’t understand the unwillingness to work with me other than labeling it as bad customer service. More
