I purchased my 16 accord from the Honda dealership and financed through capital one. Capital one had pre-approved my financing. I went to Audi to purchase a car for my daughter. I explained I did not want financed through capital one. Capital one had pre-approved my financing. I went to Audi to purchase a car for my daughter. I explained I did not want my credit run through any other bank due. I have been working on my credit since my divorce 7 years ago. I made this perfectly clear. While waiting for the official approval, I recd 5 alerts that my credit had been run by 4 additional banks. When I voiced how upset I was, first I was told it was done accidentally due to “habit”. Then another manager apologized an said not to worry because it would only affect my credit by a few points. If it were not for capital ones offer, I would have not even gone to the Audi dealer. I am extremely upset by this. They did not listen to my salesperson or do as I had requested. All 4 other banks turned me down for financing. The only bank that approved me was capital one. So they weren’t even able to offset their error by a cheaper price or interest rate. Very displeased More
