My salesman, Cory Stowe was great!! My husband and I showed up on a Saturday afternoon to look at cars, specially a Kia optima. However once I saw the Kia sorento, I was hooked on that one. I knew the price point that I wanted to be at, and what I wanted my payments to be also. Cory crunched the numbers and actually got my payments under what I wanted to spend!! We drove home that evening in a brand new sorento! I never felt pressured at all. Cory took his time with us. He showed us how to work all the new buttons in the car and told us to call him any time we needed anything at all. Thanks to Cory and everyone else at Auffenberg Kia in O'fallon, Illinois!! I have already recommended this dealership to friends and family. More

OK....first of all we got the standard grind. Sales dude who claimed to be "new" had to "talk to the finance manager" for a half an hour every time we questioned the financing quote they presented, which th who claimed to be "new" had to "talk to the finance manager" for a half an hour every time we questioned the financing quote they presented, which they lied about. All in all, about 4 30 minute waits. We had agreed on a price and a percentage rate for 6 years of payments. So they come out and quote us the wrong monthly payment with no calculations shown. We had calculated it previously and knew what it should be. So we tell him this, and he comes back 30 minutes later to say "Yes, that's the payment". We asked to see his manager, which then takes another 30 minutes because he "had to be paged". Finally we get to talk to him and he says he's not sure where that quote came from because it's wrong and was really an estimate. Really? You were the one who told him to use it. I told him that had we not questioned it, that "estimate" would have become actual. No comment from him. So he then proceeds to try to hard sell us on warrantees and add-ons we didnt't want and pulls the guilt trip on us. More
My wife and I have each bought new cars at least 10 times in the past 20 years, and I have always absolutely dreaded dealing with salesmen and car dealerships ... until I worked with Ted Collier at Auffenber in the past 20 years, and I have always absolutely dreaded dealing with salesmen and car dealerships ... until I worked with Ted Collier at Auffenberg Kia (Sorry, I may have misspelled his name). This was my first enjoyable car-buying experience. From start to finish, the experience was awesome. I can't imagine it being any better. No pressure, answered all my questions, didn't try to over-impress me or badmouth competing dealerships or vehicles; the list goes on. The only bad part of my experience is, the next time I buy as new car, I doubt the experience will be as enjoyable. By the way, I've never completed one of these reviews until now. For me, that alone speaks volumes about the experience I had at Auffenberg Kia. More

Greg and Dave were very helpful finding the vehicles we want to test drive but need to be more familiar with the vehicles options. When asked about the Ionizing Air Filter on the Sportage neither knew of its existance and neither could tell us if the EX was equipped with heated sideview mirrors. We used USAA car buying service and there was no hesitation on accepting that price on the part of the sales or financial personnel. Thanks for a great experience. More
The sales person and car price were both okay, but the gas tank was not filled when car was picked up. Also there were numerous closing fees, like a $200 fee to transfer car plates, and $200 to complete s gas tank was not filled when car was picked up. I showed up at closing time to Auffenburg and Mark was very patient and helpful from the very start. Everyone I met in the front office are very relaxed, straight forward and knew their jobs well. I stopped by the dealership on a whim. David (I wish I remembered his last name, he is young and VERY enthusiastic, but not a vulcher) met me at the car I was looking at. We talked a few minutes and I indicated I was interested in the Kia Soul. He said, hold on I'll get the keys. No pressure, no money talk, just friendly talk about taking a ride. We drove around the block and I wanted the car. I stated a certain amount I would NOT go over with my payment and within minutes, he was telling me I could get in my car for LESS than I expected. It was a wonderful experience. I was not there for hours with the "I'll go back and see if I can squeeze more out of my manager..." I have played that game at other dealers and walked away. If it weren't for the service at THIS dealer and David as my salesman, I would not have bought a new car when stopping in on just a whim. I am very pleased. More
I was very disappointed in this dealer's aggressive attempts to add on multiple extra-cost items above an agreed upon price quote. Auffenberg Kia offered an outstanding price quote in response to an online new car pricing service query. In light of their superior price quote, I planned to purchase their vehicle. Upon working final sales paperwork with the dealer salesman, I noticed a $690 paint protection package slipped into the draft sales agreement. That package was not in the price quote nor was it advertised or annotated anywhere on the car sticker. I refused to pay for that plan and experienced strong pushback ("we can't take it off") but the dealer finally begrudgingly removed the package when they knew the deal was off otherwise. The second high-cost add-on was a very strong attempt to push an extended warranty. Although Kia and Hyundai advertise themselves as having "the best warranty in the business", this dealer strongly tried to push me into buying an extended warranty that ran anywhere from $1,700 all the way up to $3,900. That price was not readily apparent either due to being broken up into just it's increase on monthly payments. I did the math to figure out the true price of the warranty and decided to decline the warranty. The salesperson was very aggressive in pushing the warranty add-on and only agreed to drop his push after I had to tell him 4 times that I did not want the package. These aggressive pushes to add extra-cost items to an agreed upon price really soured the purchase experience for me. I am now hesitant to recommend this dealership to others due to this experience. This dealership has a large sign in their lobby advertising that they don't do gimmicky tricks to get people into their showroom. My experience was that they do not live up to that advertising. More
