Dear Nick, Apologies that you feel as though you were mistreated or taken advantage of. That is not our intent, and we hate to lose you as a customer over a minor as a hood repair. Perhaps Dwayne was being cautious because you are technically out of warranty, and unfortunately, not all customers are up front about the exact happenings to their vehicles when they are looking for a repair to be done - It is difficult for us to know what could have happened over the last 3-4 months. As you know, in the state of Massachusetts, dealers also have rights under the law, and when used cars are purchased there is a limited warranty time. We would never send you home in a car that we knew had a faulty latch - we would have fixed it. The car was taken to an independent mechanic. We do not have an in house mechanic, so there would be no reason for dishonesty or bias - every mechanic we use is also running a business, and surely they would call out any mechanical issue, since they get paid for everything they fix. Something as simple as a latch being broken on a hood would be an easy repair, and there would be absolutely no reason that we would not fix it. The hood was opened when the car had a safety inspection, as the oil was changed, we have repair orders from back in April/May when you purchased the vehicle if you would like to see them. It does not sound like you would like us to repair your hood, or resolve this issue for that matter. Like you said, these sites are here for a reason - and for the business, these sites are here for us to make good on a bad experience. That being said, if you would like it repaired free of charge, please call the dealership and ask to speak to Dwayne, he would be happy to fix it for you.
