I sent my $88,000 2022 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody (I’ve only had the vehicle for two months and has about 3,500 miles and that I had to wait 6 months after ordering it for it to arrive) to Valencia Dodge for a minor recall service by Chrysler Corporation. The service consultant said it could take 5 to 7 days to complete the service. She denied my request for a rental car until they could confirm that the service is covered by the warranty. I told her the car was brand new and it was only there for the recall. To me, It’s obviously covered under warranty. Once the service was completed, a employee (who is not a mechanic or automotive technician) took my vehicle for a test drive. Minutes after she left the dealership, she collided with another vehicle causing moderate to heavy damage. (Thankfully, the employee and other driver were not injured). The service manager didn’t notify me of the incident until several hours later. It seems he doesn’t have a customer interest at heart and sent the vehicle to an auto repair shop for repair without my knowledge or authorization. He should have towed the vehicle to the dealership, called me to come down and we could have gone from there. It makes me suspicious why they would send it to a repair shop without notifying me. The service manager told me the damage was minor, but when I arrived at the repair shop it was extremely obvious the damage was more than just minor. I asked the service manager why he would allow someone who is not a mechanic or technician test drive a customer’s high performance $88,000 vehicle when they are not qualified to evaluate any vehicle. He had no response. The manager said they would have the vehicle repaired. It’s a brand new Charger Hellcat that I’ve only had for two months and it only 3,500 miles. I told him even repaired, it will not drive the same and will significantly lose it’s value and My family doesn’t feel safe driving in the car. I didn’t spend so much money on such a new car just to have it’s value dropped. I expect to be reimbursed for the amount of money I put down and the amount I have already paid monthly and that the lender be paid off or replace it with the exact same vehicle. I would understand if my vehicle was 5 years old and had 40,000 miles, but this was only two months old. I still have an obligation to the lender and have to continue paying the $1,200 monthly payment. Even though it could take months to repair, the dealership refuses to pay for a rental vehicle. If you value something you worked hard for, DON’T take your vehicle to Autonation Dodge in Valencia More
