I purchased a used 2021 Ranger with just under 11,000 miles. Five miles from the dealership the CEL began flashing and the truck began to misfire. I returned to the dealer and waited another hour while a miles. Five miles from the dealership the CEL began flashing and the truck began to misfire. I returned to the dealer and waited another hour while a technician looked everything over, and replaced one spark plug, stating that the detailing crew must have gotten water into the spark plug well and fouled it out. Two hours into a seven and a half hour trip home, the truck began doing it again. Autonation's solution? Just drive home carefully and take it to any Ford dealer for warranty repair. Seeing as this would be my only vehicle and every dealership I contacted was booking appointments two or more weeks in advance, this wasn't an option. They then stated the technician that originally "fixed" the issue stated it could the coilpack for that same cylinder was damaged as well, and would send one to me to install myself. It has been two weeks since I purchased the truck and I still have not received the coilpack. Luckily I was able to purchase one at an auto parts store to install, which does seem to have fixed the issue. In addition to the vehicle itself having a problem, Autonation seems to have a problem with someone using their own financial institution for finance purposes. Knowing what rate I could get from my bank, I was still "forced" ( I am aware I could have told them no, or simply walked away, however finding the exact spec truck I wanted was a once in a lifetime thing) to fill out their credit application before they would accept a deposit or hold the vehicle for me as I lived halfway across the state. They then attempted to have me finance the truck with an absurdly higher rate, and when I said I would just call my bank myself for their rate, they suddenly had a much better rate to present to me.
