It is with inner turmoil that I write this review. I really really wanted to like AutoNation Honda Costa Mesa. My wife and I saved up a long time so that we could get her out of her piece of crap Kia. I really really wanted to like AutoNation Honda Costa Mesa. My wife and I saved up a long time so that we could get her out of her piece of crap Kia. We looked at multiple dealerships over various months to find a comfortable SUV suitable for a new family. We found a 2016 Porsche Cayenne in our favorite color that was priced fairly and decided to buy it. Our out the door price on our 66k mile Porsche was 31-32k dollars. Being used we only considered buying a car that was "Certified." My salesman worked with us on the price and we fell in love with the car immediately. That is until we started having all of the issues listed below and our car spent months in the shop. 1.) Rough power steering pump at idle 2.) Air conditioner that was completely non functional (it was cold outside when we bought it) 3.) 1 side amber light non functional even after changing bulb 4.) Coolant leak (would smell after driving) 5.) Rough shifting/surging in between gears 6.) One new headlight and one old headlight that had a damaged gasket (when its cold out,old headlight gets foggy/has condensation 7.) old wiper blades that were non functional 8.) clogged wiper fluid spray nozzles 9.) Ambient air temp sensor that was plugged into the wrong harness causing it to fail 10.) major rat droppings/nesting under plastic engine cover. Also multiple chewed up spots on engine firewall/wire insulation. I took care of as many issues as I could before finally giving up and calling the service department. At first they told me to find my own shop to work on it if I could. I wasted days with 3 different shops who all eventually came to the conclusion that the issues were too advanced to work on. I took the car to AutoNation Costa Mesa, they were extremely helpful and I felt good about the whole situation. They took my car in and started working on it immediately as well as loaning us a car. We received a call and our service advisor told us that they tried to work on the car but couldnt complete all of the jobs because it was out of their expertise. They sent the car over to AutoNation Porsche Irvine to complete the repairs. Once the repairs were done we returned the loaner and got our baby back only for it to still have issues. Multiple parts had been replaced on the top of the engine in regards to the fuel system (apparently these parts broke when they were working on it), coolant connectors and the ac compressor had been replaced and it was working good but sounded rough. I was told the steering pump was low on fluid which was not true because I checked it before taking it in and it is still rough to this day. Also the headlight was deemed fine but continued to get foggy and condensate on wet/cold days. A short time later the shifting got real bad and we took it back in. Another loaner car and long duration in the shop. The transfer case was replaced this time and the car was running good. Car was great until coolant smell came back and the AC kept shutting off on my wife. I called AutoNation and they argued with me until deciding to take another look at the AC. They took it to Porsche Irvine and they told me that there was a problem with the radiator dampers opening up. Porsche Irvine has had my car for almost 2 weeks now and everyday that I call they tell me that my case manager Israel (AutoNation Honda) is supposed to have a meeting with his general manager and that they havent heard anything new. Ive been hearing this for approximately 5-6 days. I live an hour away from the dealership without traffic or else I would've stopped in by now. Porsche Irvine has apologized for the way Auto Nation Honda Costa Mesa has conducted themselves and has even tried to advocate for me to receive some answers. My car is still sitting and collecting dust and they don't care that my wife is without a car. She is a special ed school teacher who relies heavily on being able to drive herself to work at early/late hours. I work More

Even though we did not proceed with the repairs at this time, (over our budget), we will bring it back when the budget allows. I believe we were treated with respect and that the estimate was fair. We have been going to this dealership for years and will continue to do so as long as we own a Honda. More
