From the moment till the end of my vehicle service it was great experience. They kept me informed through out the process and all the parts are directly from the Honda manufacturer. Here is my recent experience with Honda AutoNation in Sterling, VA: 1) I called the service department on Sat afternoon to schedule an appointment for a recall notice associated with the back up camer Sterling, VA: 1) I called the service department on Sat afternoon to schedule an appointment for a recall notice associated with the back up camera on my Ridgeline. They quickly made an appointment for me. When I asked if they had the needed part for the replacement, they transferred me to the parts department. 2) After a long wait, a parts employee told me that they didn't have the part and I would have to reschedule the work for a few days later. They returned me to service to remake the appointment. After another long wait, they inadvertently hung up on me. 3) I called back restarting the long wait and the service department finally remade the appointment for in accordance with the advice from the parts dept. Ten min. later the parts department called me telling me that they could not/not order the part until service looked at the truck first. 4) The parts person said they did not know what the service dept was going to do with the inspection, but I had to bring the truck in for an inspection. So the parts department transferred me back to service department to remake the original appointment for the inspection. 5) After another long wait, someone else came on the line took my name and number and said someone would call me back when the appointment scheduler was available. After no call back for more than 30 min, I decided it was best not to proceed with this dealership and I was able to cancel the existing appointment on-line. 6) At least in this circumstance, the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing at this dealership. A lack of understanding and coordination between the service scheduler, the parts department, and the service department left me highly frustrated, and the process showed little consideration for the customer's time and left a very bad impression! I've never had such a bad customer service experience with this dealership until this past week. First of all, the online scheduling system is AWFUL. I wanted to wait for my appointment, but that option with this dealership until this past week. First of all, the online scheduling system is AWFUL. I wanted to wait for my appointment, but that option wasn't available. I could only chose a drop off, when I used to be able to select the choice to wait. When I arrived at the dealership for the appointment the employee acted as though I was wasting his time. He completely blew me off when I mentioned the website issue and that I would rather wait. He said there wasn't a wait option available because it was "already selected by another customer"...seriously? That was not the case at all. I had checked other times that were at least 4 weeks out, and I was STILL only given a drop off option. I did not appreciate his condescending attitude towards me. I begrudgingly rescheduled the appointment for the following day, but then I ended up needing to cancel it. The appointment confirmation very clearly has a link to modify the appointment online, but of course that wasn't going to work either. So, I called to make a new appointment and again mentioned another website issue..to which I was told that I needed to "call to cancel an appointment." There's nothing in the confirmation email that says that, and if it did, what's the point in offering the online option? Again, it felt like my frustration wasn't valid. When I finally made it to my 3rd appointment attempt, the same employee I met with at my first attempt once again acted as though I was wasting his time. It was ridiculous. The only saving grace after everything finished was that the man who helped me get checked out was MUCH more courteous than everyone else. It's otherwise truly unfortunate that this was such a stressful experience. More
