For my last service attempt I made a 7AM appointment, service rep arrived at 7:20, I finally turned in the keys and told him what I needed at abou For my last service attempt I made a 7AM appointment, service rep arrived at 7:20, I finally turned in the keys and told him what I needed at about 7:40. All I needed was an oil/filter change and run the diagnostic for the service light that was on since my last visit. He quoted me $101 for the oil change and about $200 for the diagnostic. I informed him I would wait there and I had somewhere to go before 10AM. He said it would take about 1 hour, so I had plenty of time. By 9:20 AM I asked him for the status, and he said they had not yet started working on it. I told him I wanted the car back and I would no longer need them to do the service. It took him another 15 minutes to get my car back and then said they had a "partial diagnostic", and it came back as a need to replace a part of the transmission, and it would be around $2000. I took it to Firestone that same afternoon, replaced the oil/filter for $80 and the diagnostic was free if I used them for the repair. It had an issue with the breaks, the ones that were replaced at the dealer a couple months before and when the service light turned on. They replaced the pads and a sensor for $200. Took them about an hour. In total I spent one hour and $280 at Firestone to fix something the dealer wanted to charge $301, took them two hours just to tell me they didn't even start, and trying to upsell me a $2000 service that was not needed and still not fix what they broke on the previous service. More
