Brought my car in for an infotainment update and oil change/tire rotation. Was told it would take a few hours because of the update, which I was fine with. Dealer took the full time, said it was updat change/tire rotation. Was told it would take a few hours because of the update, which I was fine with. I was quite pleased with the routine oil change and safety check. I suggest, though, if key fob is removed from the customer's key ring (so fob will fit on processing rack in service area) that the cu safety check. I suggest, though, if key fob is removed from the customer's key ring (so fob will fit on processing rack in service area) that the customer be notified as to where the key ring is placed. I had some anxious moments when I saw that my key ring was no longer attached to the key fob, and had to return to the dealership to find out what had happened. More
Very disappointing experience with recent November, 2022 major service and repair, particularly on the repair item. I was advised that my 2011 Legacy's large lower front control arm bushings had worn out an major service and repair, particularly on the repair item. I was advised that my 2011 Legacy's large lower front control arm bushings had worn out and needed replacement at a cost of nearly $978. Before picking up the car the following day I called another local dealership to check their pricing for the repair. Not only was their price much lower at $800, but the Service Advisor said he would also recommend replacing the small control arm bushings at the same time for $58 more in order to save duplicating the labor expense at a later date when the small ones fail. Although AutoNation matched their price, I'm left with a sinking feeling and the extremely disappointing prospect of having to duplicate a very costly expense in the near future when it could have been avoided. The takeaway is it pays to check around before authorizing a major repair, not only for pricing but to make sure you are getting the best advice about the repair. Sometimes we learn the hard way, but I do not plan on making the same mistake twice and plan to use the other dealership in the future after having been an AutoNation Subaru Roseville customer since 2018.
