I was very pleased with the purchase of my new car from Autonation Carlsbad Hyundai from the start to the finish. Parker was the first person to call me after I found a great price online. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, while answering all of my questions and then scheduling an appt for me to come in to meet Mitch and go for a test ride. Mitch was very pleasant to work with and was very easygoing throughout the entire process. When it came time for the walk-thru of the car after finance was complete, Mitch really shined. He knows his product and was able to walk my wife and I through the vehicle from front to back, paying special attention to the electronics, safety and navigation systems and features. Many sales people these days just don't seem to care to spend the time to familiarize themselves with the product, and that is very disappointing. I want to mention now that there were absolutely NO high pressure sales tactics here at this dealership from anyone that I came into contact with. That is very refreshing, cuz I had already come from a Hyundai dealership in a Poway that refused to honor their internet price, right from the negotiating get-go. They had also already put "dealer extras" on the vehicle, and proceeded to tell me that they reduced the price online so much (less by the way than Autonation Carlsbad) "in order to help the buyer pay for the dealer extras, because they cannot be removed and they must be paid for." The sales manager who came out to condescend (did I mean convey?) this information to me (Sam,) then tried to tell me that all the kids were doing it (uhhuumm... his word was dealerships and not kids!) This is not true as I have purchased many personal, and business vehicles, in my 50+ years and I don't pay for these extras. So....Autonation, honored their internet price immediately and gave me a fair price for my trade. Then the dealership had to go out of their way for us, flexibility wise, as we had just started signing the finance doc's when I started to feel a mold amount of pain beginning in my body. I have some health issues that I had warned them about, and when my pain hits - it can be fast and hard sometimes. I ended up getting irritable before recognizing just how much pain I was in and Shawn, our finance manager, had to take the brunt of it - with a little helping for Parker and the sales manager. They all took it in stride, and we rescheduled the signing of the doc's for the next day. They were also very helpful the next day in trying to keep us updated about our appt time so that we didn't have to wait there long, as we had left our 3 little ones with the grandparents. (I want to apologize to Parker and the sales manager that night - but especially to Shawn for my grumpy outbursts before realizing that I was just in too much pain to continue.) In summary, everyone at Autonation Carlsbad Hyundai was really great in accommodating our needs and gave us a great price on our new family car. I can't say how much I recommend them for the next car that you are looking to purchase. It really feels like they care about their customers and that they are much more interested in establishing a relationship with them then making a couple extra quick bucks. Thanx again, everyone! I just drove in from S. Carolina where the service was superb. I would have liked to have them go over the warranty and expectation of the manufacturer and then define for me that what they recommended as an upsell that was not really recommended by the manufacturer. I want clear cut communication and not some half xxx platitudes. They did not walk me through the program I was under at all, so I don't know that they did what was really suppose to happen during this service. Again, I want clear communication. More

After this car purchase, I will never purchase a Hyundai simply due to the terrible customer service I received from Autonation Hyundai Carlsbad. Expect false advertising and to be ghosted the second you finish signing the paperwork. Leased an Ioniq5 at the beginning of August, was told by no less than 4 employees, unprompted, that I would be getting finish signing the paperwork. Leased an Ioniq5 at the beginning of August, was told by no less than 4 employees, unprompted, that I would be getting $400 in charging credits as a part of my lease. I didn't bring this up, I was not aware of this promotion, this was used by them as a sales tactic. When I tried to follow their directions on how to get those credits the website says it's not available. I reached out to my salesperson multiple times about it, he says "he'll look into it" but then never gets back to me, and always had some weird excuse as to why he didn't even look into it. This has been going on for over a month and now I'm fed up. This is on top of the fact that on my first visit before leasing one of their impatient service techs almost hit my car with another customer's car, because he couldn't wait 4 seconds for me to park. Absolutely insane, there is no way I'm letting anyone in that service department near my car. I'm researching other Hyundai dealers to use for service. This one cannot be trusted, not with sales, not with service. More

Five minutes after I drove off several issues were noticed one being the radio not working and the second the side view and rear camera were blurry causing me to have trouble changing lanes safely. When I was inspecting the car I was told that the back up camera was just dirty from the dust in the sales dirt lot. I was told that I could bring it back the next morning. Upon returning the car the service center said the radio and cameras would need replacing in order to work and gave me a quote of over 7,000. The sales manager said I could go back to old times and use the rear mirror after I said I was concerned about safety. I listen to am radio daily and expressed that the radio did not have any reception on AM and just loud static. I was told I could listen to half the radio and the car as as is I signed a contract. At that point I had already gotten insurance and returned my rental car so I just left. It’s too bad the dealer management just wanted to push the car out the door. I was told since I bought a service contract in 30 days I could try that. More

Now Im being told that the I need to live with the battery and press the battery reset button when it happens again. With all this wonderful technology why are auto makers building vehicles that the battery goes dead in a couple weeks if the car isn't driven. More
