The worst car buying experience ever! As a new resident of carlsbad, i can say that bob baker made me acrually question the kind of town to which i had recently moved. The salesmen are dishonest and the support staff does nothing to help customers or sales staff facilitate the sale. After finally choosing a car and deciding on a price, the new sales manager made some errors when processing paperwork and actually,illegally tried to cancel the sale six weeks after the sale be ause he messed up and instead of trying to fix it...it was easier to just try to cancel it....illegal!!! Additionally, the car has many problems that the dealer tried to hide and or did not mention. I have had the car in tbe shop four times since purchased. More

We test drove several cars as they had a great selection then went to dinner. This could have been our out but we went back and drove off with a 2016 Outback. We weren't really prepared to buy, just look but they put together a great lease package so it was too good to pass up. I will go back to Bob Baker and Jason when it comes time to renew. More

No Support For EVs I was really enthusiastic about my new eGolf -until I tried to drive it off the lot. The AC was broken. Hung out for nearly two hours after the deal w I was really enthusiastic about my new eGolf -until I tried to drive it off the lot. The AC was broken. Hung out for nearly two hours after the deal was completed and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They sent me home in a terrible, smelly (cigarette) loaner car that actually ran out of gas on the drive home. They finally had to get me a replacement car from another dealer -and now that one is having a lot of problems (car.net doesn't work, navigation and music play are buggy). Worst of all, I called their service department five times over two weeks to try to set up an appointment, and the calls always went to voicemail. I left detailed messages, but no one ever called back. Just to add insult to injury, I had a charging emergency when the nearby station was out of order, so I went to the dealer -only to find they have permanently shut down their EV charger (they couldn't say why...). They then sent me to another charging station that doesn't support my car. The one I bought from them! They actually don't even know what kind of charger works on their own cars! This dealership talks big about their wonderful customer service, but they just can't back it up. I'm really disappointed in Volkswagen after this poor experience. More

When we visited them for the first time for the test drive we were assisted by Doug (do not recall his last name) and he was very courteous and helpful. Answered all of our numerous questions. In fact, he was one of the best car sale associates I have ever met in my life. Then we did more test driving and some shopping around. I called them back in a week to see if we can come back for negotiation and since Doug was not at work on that day my phone call was answered by someone named Jim. He was just plainly rude with me. He said, and I quote "It is not a game we are playing here. You like the car - you buy it right away. Otherwise you don't need to come back here" and he continued in similar tone. I am not sure if Jim is playing "a bad cop" role there or something. I have been through the car buying experience before and I know some sale associates can be rude. But Jim's behavior was beyond anything I have experienced before. I would have given them one star, but I should be fair to Doug. He did a pretty good job on our first visit. More
