I've purchased many new cars in San Diego County over the last 40 years. Some of the experiences were not too bad, but most were horrendous, anxiety-filled experiences. This time, the anxious feeling was back, and so I thought I would prep myself. I watched lots of YouTube videos on how to buy, but that really wasn't much help. I then found CarEdge's rating system for transparent dealers. I decided to go with AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad; they had an "A" rating. My initial contact was with Jake; he was straight forward with me from the get-go. I gave him my offer for the car they advertised, and it was accepted. The car was in transit for a few weeks, but I was in no hurry. Jake kept me up to speed on its progress, and it showed up a few days early. I made an appointment with Jake to come in and check the car out, and the whole experience couldn't have been better. They gave me pretty much what I was expecting on my trade-in, and I paid cash for the rest. All in all, I was very pleased. Sean, the Finance Mgr., was easy to work with and made things go smoothly. So folks, if you want one of the easiest car-buying experiences around, go see these guys. Give them a chance, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. My maintenance experience was very good from setting up the appointment to receiving my car, with one exception. On both maintenance visits so far for my brand new car, I asked that my report be emailed t the appointment to receiving my car, with one exception. The dealership is very nice the employees need training on the new cars. I have had new cars for the past 20 years and this car has been a challenge. First not being able to get anyone in the dealership on the new cars. I have had new cars for the past 20 years and this car has been a challenge. First not being able to get anyone in the dealership to figure out why I could not program my garage door to the car. It took me spending money with a garage door service representative to let me know that it had to do with the software that was put in the car not my remote, not my garage door opener (by the way it was new) but your software. Then it took three months a new phone and four trips to the Carlsbad facility to find out that again it was a programing problem with your cars. New phone, going to Apple to see if there was anything else I needed to do to get mu phone to pair with the car and then to find out that it was the programming in the car that was the problem. Your service people need to be updated with the working of the newer cars at least every six months. More
