I purchased a used BMW in May 2025, trusting that a certified dealership would stand behind their vehicles and their brand reputation. The car had barely been on the lot 24 hours, and I was assured it had undergone a thorough inspection. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Within 10 days of purchase, the car required a repair for a damaged hose, something I was told was “driver error,” despite having driven it fewer than two weeks. The dealership kept my car for 42 days while waiting for the correct part from Germany, during which I made my first car payment on a vehicle I couldn’t even drive. Fast forward just a few months later, and with fewer than 3,500 miles driven, the engine suddenly overheated on the freeway. I had the car towed 128 miles to BMW of Camarillo, where I was immediately hit with an estimate exceeding $5,500!! When I expressed concern that I may have been sold a lemon, I was met with zero compassion or accountability. Service Advisor Greg Lara flatly told me the part that failed is “common to leak.” If that’s true, why wasn’t it inspected or replaced before the sale? Trying to salvage the situation, I arranged to have the car towed to an independent shop nearby, only to be told that BMW of Camarillo would not release my vehicle until I paid a $300 inspection fee. No exceptions. No empathy. No care that I had purchased the car FROM THEM just months earlier. The other shop, Camarillo Independent, fixed the exact issue for $1,100 total…a fraction of BMW’s quote. Their honesty, professionalism, and transparency stood in stark contrast to the dismissive, transactional treatment I received at BMW of Camarillo. This dealership does not uphold the level of integrity, compassion, or accountability that one should expect from the BMW brand. Their “customer service” ends the moment you sign the paperwork. If you’re considering buying a used vehicle here—don’t. If you expect ethical service—look elsewhere. If you value being treated with basic respect as a paying customer—avoid BMW of Camarillo. More

Throughout the sales process, I was repeatedly assured that the car had been thoroughly checked over and was in 100% amazing shape. It was also advertised as a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle, only for me to be told at the last minute during financing that it wasn’t certified after all. The car was listed with 46,000 miles, but during paperwork, I discovered it had actually been driven an additional 5,000 miles as a demo vehicle by Sam, the General Sales Manager himself. None of this was disclosed upfront. When the vehicle arrived, it had a check engine light on, non-working ambient lighting, and squeaking brakes also the rotors were completely warped. Soon after, it was diagnosed with a major engine issue that rendered the car completely undrivable. I tried multiple times to come to a solution, reaching out directly to Sam, but he was absolutely no help. He took his hands off the situation entirely and told me to contact BMW Corporate for “after warranty assistance”, which he clearly knew wouldn’t lead anywhere. BMW Corporate then told me that only the dealership could authorize a goodwill repair, and BMW of Camarillo refused to help. I’ve now been left with a $70,000 vehicle that doesn’t operate, plus I’m being held responsible for storage and labor fees at the BMW dealership that is currently diagnosing the issue. All I want is to get my car working I’m not asking for anything more than what’s fair. If the car had truly been checked and in the condition they claimed, none of this would be happening. This entire experience has been a nightmare. Buyers beware especially if you’re purchasing from out of state. Get everything in writing, and have the vehicle independently inspected. BMW of Camarillo has shown zero accountability and no interest in helping resolve the problem they handed off to me. More
Call them to purchases the used car, after my call they race internet price by $5000. Anyway, i agreed to purchase the car. They supposed to send me the paperwork to wire the money. Took my 320i in to have the tires replaced battery replacement and reprogram battery, oil change etc. I went over the tires with the service writer letting him know that I wanted the same tires that replacement and reprogram battery, oil change etc. I went over the tires with the service writer letting him know that I wanted the same tires that were on the car when I purchased it from this dealership, which I stated that I want the same tires that are on it which were pirelli Runflats 225/50 R 17 W they put on v rated, not what I asked for, I was told that if you change the weight of the tires you have to reset the suspension well it does a bit of float on the front end, They power washed my 2016 8 year old 320 I sedan dual turbo, my head light in the front driver side is full off water they stated they power washed the c,aar so now waiting to here back on what they plan to do. the tps was not set on the the computer screen made excuses for water in the headlight, they said it would go away, NOT! the headlight needs to be fixed it is was not like that before. the rubber on all the lamps are like new. I purchased a couple of cosmetic parts for my BMW Z4. I received a phone call to inform me that the parts had arrived. When I went to pick them up, I inquired from the service dept. about installing on I received a phone call to inform me that the parts had arrived. When I went to pick them up, I inquired from the service dept. about installing one of them. Without hesitation, Tanner, service rep, went to my vehicle and was able to complete the installation in 15 minutes and sent me on my way! What a wonderful young man and a great spokesperson for Steve Thomas dealership! More

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. When you purchase a BMW from Steve Thomas BMW and you drive the car off their lot, if you EVER have a PROBLEM, they will NEVER HELP YOU. I had a HUGE DANGEROUS PROBLEM and t from Steve Thomas BMW and you drive the car off their lot, if you EVER have a PROBLEM, they will NEVER HELP YOU.
