We are very sorry that your experience fell short of expectations. Unfortunately, we were unable to find an oil leak from the oil filter housing but found oil from two other sources, the o-ring and valve cover gasket. We are definitely willing to honor our work, but after inspecting the vehicle it was determined that the oil leaks had nothing to do with the previous repairs performed. If you have any questions, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Service Manager Zeke Gates.

We apologize for not being able to provide you with a satisfactory experience. As mentioned, we have never seen this concern at the dealer before. After we inspected your vehicle, we recommended to reprogram, flush the system, and replace the tanks. As you requested, we only reprogrammed your vehicle. Unfortunately, the error message was still on, and you declined the rest of our recommendations.

silvia.rosefolts responded

I have no idea what reality you are living in. But you Sir, are certainly misspeaking... You suggested to reprogram the system after flushing and cleaning the DEF tanks. In fact, that's what you even charged us for!! Are you saying you charged me for something which you didn't do...flushing the tanks and replacing the fluids? You never told us anything about replacing the tanks: you said if the flushing of the tanks would not clear the error, ice. the car would no longer start in x number of miles, then perhaps we should look at replacing the NOX sensors, a $3200 job, but with NO guarantee that procedure would take care of the problem either. Your shop reminds me of a very incompetent doctor one visits with a pain in the right side. He suggests, lets take out the appendix first, perhaps that takes care of the pain, if it doesn't, lets get rid of the gallbladder, or perhaps the right kidney. It makes me feel sad that BMW, a name we Germans explicitly trust for reliability of the vehicle and competent mechanics, is dirtied by you. Your garage sir, is not even as good as a high school auto hobby shop. You told my husband that the no start error had been cleared, that's why we picked up the car, since you had it 11 days and clearly made NO progress. Throwing just parts at something instead of evaluation a problem first is incompetence at its finest, that I can get at any Joe Shmo garage. The damn engine computer is in a FAULT state…. don't you know what to do? Doesn't BMW-NA have a clue either? Millions of miles per year are driven by diesel trucks with SCR systems that apparently work better than BMW’s. So if you can't fix it…. what are you doing? Using the shop as a revenue-generation component of your business instead of servicing your customers vehicles?

BMW of Clear Lake responded

I'm sorry for being unclear. We did perform those services, but after you came back with the forum you found online. The information you gave us was reviewed and the summary was to flush the system, disassemble and clean the metering valve, reprogram and replace the Nox sensor. You agreed to do everything except the Nox sensor. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem and without completing the original repairs recommended by the dealer, I do not see how this issue can be resolved.

Dec 02, 2014 -

silvia.rosefolts responded

You are correct, we did not want to go the nox sensor avenue because the problem is that you said that even if the Nox sensors are replaced for $3200,-- you still had no idea whether or not that this action would take care of the error message. The other problem we had with that suggestion was that there was no error indicator that the nox sensors were faulty. As said previously, by yourself, you have NEVER SEEN THIS CONCERN AT THE DEALER BEFORE,

Ronnie, I am very sorry for what you experienced during your service appointment. While you were waiting on your vehicle, I held two tech meetings which delayed your car being washed. I completely understand your frustration and I apologize for the inconvenience these meetings caused you. To make up for this, I would like to invite you in for a complimentary detail on your vehicle. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 281-557-7000.
