I got everything in place, left a deposit, confirmed my funding and they backed out of the deal. When I asked why, the GM said he is not comfortable doing business over the phone. When I offered to fly out to complete the purchase face to face, he declined to move forward with the transaction. I do not recommend this dealership. More
Third leased new BMW at this dealership. It may be the last BMW: New 2011 had electronics with BlueTooth. Phones paired fine. Replaced this with a new 2013 BMW in June. Went to see Dave at Service. Was told phone was not vehicle compatible and also told to see BMW website and purchase a compatible phone. Did so and Samsung Convoy 2 did same thing. Returned to dealersip. Was told a Verizon Software problem. Went to Verizon and was told a BMW software problem (old version). Went back to BMW and spoke with service manager Glenn. Left vehicle with repair receipt and Verizon notes and was later told phone was not compatible with car. Was told by Glenn to buy a phone off the "BMW Website compatibility list" and he would reimburse. "Trying the same experiment after the first one failed using the same criteria and expecting different results is a sign of insanity (Einstein)". Being of sound minds, we did'nt do it. Later in early December 2013, I received a BMW "survey" on this issue. I requested a corporate representative contact me. They never did. The dealership has always treated us well. A product such as BMW makes a defective car, or has a misleading website, and then won't respond to customer concerns and/or make the appropriate corrections. This is not indicative of a "high end" consumer product or corporation. Also, Glenn did not return the repair receipt with the Verizon notes. I do recommend this service department, but not the product. More

I went to BMW of San Diego for it's location to my home. I did not want to drive to Escondido or Encinitas as I live 5 miles from SD BMW. The experience that I have had is nothing short of them being home. I did not want to drive to Escondido or Encinitas as I live 5 miles from SD BMW. The experience that I have had is nothing short of them being pretty prejudice towards foreigners. I felt I was not given the help I needed by the salesman nor did the manager work with me to help me make a more informed buying decision. Feeling like I was getting the run around at times and clearly my choice of wanting to buy locally turned out to be a silly one. If I drove up north to Escondido or Encinitas I would have been treated better. My cousins, friends have bought from them and my justification was to buy here because how can it be that much more different then any other BMW stores was my thinking. Well, anyone can buy a car here or there and I get that. But I can assure you I will be telling my co-workers, family and friends not to buy here or even bring in their cars in for service. It's funny you would think that all these stores would be the same. Just like when you go to Nordstrom's or Neiman Marcus they treat you the same. But not in my case. I guess it's to each store it's own. If you want to be treated with respect, kindness, without the smirks as they walk away and the rolling of the eyes then I suggest to anyone considering getting a BMW, you might as well give other stores a try. If you live close by please don't let that be your decision to stop on by, even for a simple test drive. My friend told me that she went in and they looked at her up and down and wouldn't even allow her to test drive a car and she went to El Cajon to buy there. I don't know much about El Cajon BMW but I would not want to step foot in the neighborhood with all the crime happening there. Bottom line is that she had to go to El Cajon out of her way just because she got the cold shoulder and look from a sales guy. What a joke! More

From arrival to have my BMW brakes looked at, through write up by Josh Miller, free loaner car and final pick up of completed work, this was an extremely professional and satisfying experience. BMW of SD is beautiful in appearance and the staff is extremely professional. The issue I had with BMWofSD is honesty and what appears to be an incentive program for the service sales people (not confirm extremely professional. The issue I had with BMWofSD is honesty and what appears to be an incentive program for the service sales people (not confirmed). The first two times I used them, they quoted all sorts of optional work and made it seem mission critical that I make the repairs. Having worked on older cars, I knew that almost everything they suggested was optional, but I could easily see how they could scare a customer with no knowledge into $1000s of unnecessary repairs. My 3rd visit is the one that infuriated me. I took my car in for brakes and an air-conditioning estimate. They called me on the phone and told me $300-500 for brakes and $2400 for air. I asked them to do the brakes and hold off on the air; it was too expensive (they wanted $1800 for the compressor alone before labor). I arrived to get a bill for $800 for brakes and they said my window washer pump was broken.....and it worked fine before I arrived. I was so angry about increase in cost for the brakes that I paid and left. Leaving the parking lot, I checked my windshield wiper spray to confirm it was broken, and it worked perfectly fine! The word 'liar' comes to mind. It also makes me wonder about a potential quota program in place to push their service sales folks to sell more repairs. In my opinion, BMWofSD has beatiful facilities and staff because they are over-servicing their customers vehicles and charging more than other dealerships and certainly more than local repair shops. I had my air conditioning repaired at South County BMW for $2000 including labor which also tells me that BMWofSD is gauging a little on their parts as well (not surprising). Here is my suggestion: if you want a wonderful experience and don't mind paying for it (which describes many BMW owners), go to BMWofSD. If you are cost conscience, don't use them. More
Repetitively ignored my complaints about transmission on my '08 BMW 750i. The recurring theme seems to be 'cannot reproduce the problem' explanation of why the warranty work was not performed. The dealers my '08 BMW 750i. The recurring theme seems to be 'cannot reproduce the problem' explanation of why the warranty work was not performed. The dealership has gotten progressively worse, similarly to Mercedes-Benz of San Diego, since it was taken over by Penske. After over 10 years of being a patron, it's time to say good-bye in 2012 and end the stream of frustration. More
