Great cars, sales staff needs training I absolutely LOVE my new Hyundai Santa Fe just as I loved my last car, a Hyundai Elantra GT. You can't get a better value than a Hyundai. But, service I absolutely LOVE my new Hyundai Santa Fe just as I loved my last car, a Hyundai Elantra GT. You can't get a better value than a Hyundai. But, service has gone downhill at the dealership since my last purchase. Due to the pandemic, this dealership requires an appointment to visit, which is understandable. When I showed up on time for my appointment, the salesperson with whom I was to meet wasn't available. It took 15 minutes to find me another one. He was very helpful and pleasant. When I returned later in the day to make my actual purchase, I had more trouble connecting with the salespeople, wasting a great deal of my time. I was disappointed that the sales staff did not follow their own delivery protocol and checklist when I took delivery. I've purchased many new cars but have never had one delivered with all the protective film still in place in the interior and with NO INSTRUCTIONS whatsoever on the car's features or how to safely drive it. When I bought my last car from the same dealership, the salesman walked me through everything and even paired my phone with the system so I would be safe on the drive home. These salesmen not only showed me nothing, but marred my perfect new car. The man who attempted to attach my paper license plate didn't know how to operate his power screwdriver and had the wrong bit in it, so he cross-threaded one of the screws and then stripped out the head trying to drive it on in while I stood there watching him. He was going to send me on my way with one screw sticking out a half-inch until I requested it be fixed. They repaired it by providing an incorrect, mismatched silver screw, that did not even have the correct threads, the same black color, or the same head configuration as the other one. I bought a very nice vehicle and felt somewhat disrespected that these guys thought they could get away with that nonsense. I feel like it's because I'm an older woman and they are young men, so they thought I wouldn't know the difference. I was pretty irritated by that point, so I took the vehicle home and fixed the screws myself by just replacing them both. I also am teaching myself about the vehicles features using the Internet and the owner's manual. It's a good thing I have the ability to do that, or I would be a threat to myself and others on the road, because this SUV has all the bells and whistles and can be a little confusing. I think these guys meant well, but they really need more training. Overall, though, I did like the low-pressure, customer-centered atmosphere, the comfortable showroom, and the courteous staff and would still buy from this dealership again. More
