Sercice and repair After running over a re-tread tire on the fwy I had to have my front bumper replaced. To their credit Hyundai did provide me a rental car for the days After running over a re-tread tire on the fwy I had to have my front bumper replaced. To their credit Hyundai did provide me a rental car for the days while my car was in the shop. I did not closely inspect the car when I picked it up but at first glance the color matched and it had a new bumper. I drove it straight home and parked it in the garage until getting ready to leave on a trip. I pulled it out to wash it at which time I noticed the corner of the bumper was sticking out slightly and there was a tool gouge on the bumper under the driver side headlight where they apparently had to pry it down to get the bumper to fit. The Passenger side corner of the bumper was sucked in and not even with the original assembly. During my trip I noticed the driver side was flaring out more from the body and appeared to be coming apart. When I took it back to the dealership they contacted their body shop and they remembered the passenger side not being even and offered to repair that side so it matched up but because I had apparently scraped the bottom of the bumper on my trip they blamed the flare out on the other side on me and said they could replace the bumper at my expense! I pointed out that it was coming apart before I scraped the bottom on something and, granted, it was coming apart more than when I left for my trip but this would not have happened if it had been properly installed in the first place. I told them I was not looking for a new bumper, just replace the clips that hold it together? They informed me there was no way of just making it flush because there were no clips that held it in place and the entire bumper would have to be replaced. The entire bumper just because it is coming apart on the end? This is insane and indicates to me they did not use OEM parts and the after market bumper they used did not fit from day one or there would be no tool mark on one side where they had to force it to fit under the headlight assembly and the other side was sucked in and not flush. They refused to make good on their shoddy workmanship and since I don't have that kind of cash I am forced to drive a vehicle that looks like crap in the front end after already paying them cash to do the job right and took for granted they would use genuine parts and do the job correctly.
