Baron Honda responded

I apologize for any misunderstanding you may have had with our service staff. After researching your complaint I discovered that my technician had legitimate concerns about removing the engine oil drain plug. The vehicle in question is a 2004 with over 216,000 miles on it. When we looked at the vehicle we saw that the oil drain plug crush washer hadn't been replaced in a long time. In addition the drain plug was severely over tightened. We use a torque wrench to tighten drain plugs, most other repair facilities do not. If we had loosened the drain plug and the threads were damaged, you would have been stuck until the following day. The fair and responsible thing to do is to inform the customer of potential problems prior to changing the oil. At no point did the advisor try to sell you an oil pan, she simply advised you of a potential problem.

On the morning of 3/25/2016 I arrived for work at 5:50 AM and noticed a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid parked in our lot with a flat tire on the left rear and it had Virginia tags. Knowing that the 2015 Hybrid is not equipped with a spare tire I took a floor jack out and removed the tire and wheel to see if it needed a new tire or if we could repair the damaged tire. I determined that the damage was not in an area that we could repair and immediately contacted the customer. Mr. Stark authorized the tire replacement and I proceeded with the repair. After mounting the tire I went back out in the rain and installed it on his vehicle. We again contacted Mr.Stark and informed him that his vehicle was ready to be picked up. He told us that he needed a ride to our dealership. We promptly dispatched a driver and brought him back to retrieve his vehicle. Mind you this is all before 8:00AM, because I was concerned that he had to drive back to Virginia. The customer than picked up his car and never contacted us again about his concerns. Our tire machine has all rubber and vinyl contact points to prevent wheel damage. Whatever caused the damage to the tire probably caused damage to the rim. Late winter potholes are usually the culprit.
