The car was not on their lot, so they sent a driver to get the car and have it on their lot by the time we arrived. We test drove the car, loved it, and bought it that day. The interior had been smoked in, so they discounted us the cost of taking it somewhere to have the smell removed. Unfortunately, they only had the car for one day before we came to see it, so they were not aware of an issue with the gas tank. The filters had not been installed properly, which prevented any more than one gallon of gas to be pumped into the tank at one time. The car also did not have an owner's manual. Josh arranged to send us an owner's manual. He also arranged to pay the automotive place that replaced the filters. All the issues that we discovered with the car were resolved and paid for by Bart's Car Store. Josh always returned our phone calls and kept us informed on the progress. He made sure that all our problems were resolved, and that we were happy with the resolution. I would definitely go back to Barts, and I would make sure that Josh was there and deal with him. Josh was great! More
Terrible, Awful, SCAMERS, LIERS, bad bad business men...MATT I can't begin to explain how many times we were lied to about the 14000 jeep we purchased from Matt. The day after we bought the jeep it breaks down o I can't begin to explain how many times we were lied to about the 14000 jeep we purchased from Matt. The day after we bought the jeep it breaks down on me and my 3yr old daughter, leaving us stranded bc this is the only vehicle my fiancé I have. Since then it has broke down 10 times in 4 months leaving us in all different kinds of bad situations...we have 2 jobs, pre-school, babysitters and family that we need to be able to get to everyday on time. I spent 14000 bc we need a nice reliable vehicle...and this is what I got. Matt has told us many times that they would fix it and has even kept it for 2 weeks only to come pick it up to find out he had fixed a belt that I guess was making noise and then let it sit n the parking lot and turned it on occasionally. I left the lot that day and got 1mile down the road, got gas and my car wouldn't start!!!!!!! Unacceptable....Bull S**T!!!!!! More

Unhappy Do not buy your car from Barts. They lied to us about keys and a spot on the bumper. We were told to come back the next day and get the second key and Do not buy your car from Barts. They lied to us about keys and a spot on the bumper. We were told to come back the next day and get the second key and they would also remove a paint spot on the bumper. They said when we returned that there wasn't a second key. We also were tricked into buying a Warranty. They told us if we would put another $1000.00 down they would throw in a full warranty for free...When I went to read the bank financing paper we found where it was listed and we were charged for it through the financing from the bank...BTW: I haven't had the car a year and a sensor went out on the clutch and it isn't covered under the warranty...Not happy and will never recommend this place to anyone...Not even my worst enemy!! I've had to call 3 or 4 times to find out what the story is, and almost never get a call back when promised. We were happy with our experience up until this point!! More
My son bought a Cadiallac on April 12, 2013. He is only 20 and this was his first major purchase, so imagine his excitement when he found the car of his dreams at an affordable price. However, that perfec 20 and this was his first major purchase, so imagine his excitement when he found the car of his dreams at an affordable price. However, that perfect car and dream has turned into a lemon and a nightmare! He has had nothing but problems with this car since day 2 of owning it. It starting overheating on day 2 and has not stopped despite having done the following to it: REPLACED ENGINE COOLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACED UPPER RADIATOR HOSE REPLACED RADIATOR REPLACED CLAMPS ON HOSE REPLACED RADIATOR CAP REPLACED THERMOSTAT Not to mention the numerous amounts of DEX-cool Antifreeze he has had to continuously put in it at $16.99 per jug! After my son replaced the radiator, I contacted Bart's and spoke to the salesperson and Bart's agreed to reimburse 1/2 of the purchase of the radiator only. After a lengthly period of time without communication, I emailed again - with no response. And again- no response. Finally I emailed the manager, still no response but the salesperson finally responded and the check was cut for $122. However, the car continued to overheat. He has been stranded numerous times on the side of the road just trying to go 5 miles home. My son had not even made his first payment on the car and was already replacing the radiator and performing all this maintenance and it is still overheating! DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A QUALITY PRODUCT TO YOU? Bart's claims to pride themselves in top notch quality products and customer service. Neither of which have been achieved with this ordeal he is going through with this car. I know that he bought this car "AS IS", and it is the risk he took. However, I honestly feel that Bart's WAS AWARE there were problems with this car BEFORE it was sold and didn't disclose it to him. Obviously had he known that the car had a major problem with it -he would not have bought it. At the time of purchase my son was assured that the car had gone through an inspection process and it was in great running condition. However when I spoke to the salesman recently, he told me it DID NOT go through any type of inspection. It was a trade -in and on the back lot. Isn't it funny how the story changes when there are problems they don't want to help their customers deal with? I feel Bart's was purposely scamming him, knowingly selling him a car with problems "as is". And now they are not willing to do anything to try an resolve the issue. My son is paying for a car he cannot drive and does not have the money to fix. And Bart's is basically saying F-You and hey make sure we get our money. We are hard working Americans just like you, so I urge anyone reading this who is even thinking about going to Bart's -TURN AROUND AND RUN! Don't get scammed like we did. If I can stop anyone from going to Bart's and getting ripped off I hope I can. I know that we all work hard for our money and I guess some of us are more nieve than others. Don't be a victim of the selfish ways of Bart's. They are not sales people they are scam artists. Lastly, I know that you and I just want to be safe and keep our families safe on the road. If you go to Bart's not only will you be riding in an unsafe vehicle that breaks down left and right, your families could jeopardy. Who knows what they won't disclose to you? More
This review may be long, however, please read this if you are serious about buying a used car and please reconsider your choice to purchase a car from Bart's car store. I would first like to start off b are serious about buying a used car and please reconsider your choice to purchase a car from Bart's car store. I would first like to start off by stating that I am 20 years old and this was my first time buying a car so you can imagine my excitement when I found the exact car the I wanted at Bart's car store in Fort Wayne Indiana. The car was a bit overpriced but I figured I'm getting it from a "reputable" dealer so why not right? Wrong-- within the second day of owning this vehicle it has caused me nothing but problems. That second day I started noticing a puddle underneath my car so I checked all my fluids and they appeared fine however the next day after driving for about 15 minutes my car started to overheat. Not just a little it nearly completely overheated so I turned on my heat all the way and it leveled out and I made it home only to realize all my coolant was completely gone. My car came with a digital dash so when a problem occurs a message pops up telling you if you need to check the tire pressure, oil is low, trans fluid is low etc. Therefore you would think a check coolant message would come on right? About a week and a half (and near $100 dollars in antifreeze) later I started to have friends that knew about cars take a look. We took out my coolant reservoir and we noticed a connector was freely hanging near the coolant reservoir with a piece of wire plugged into it to bypass any electric current going through the connection. So I watched a video on YouTube on this particular cars coolant reservoir and discovered that this freely hanging connector was the signal to my dash telling me information about my coolant. So I plugged this into my coolant reservoir and what do you know my check coolant message popped right up. Long story short my radiator was severely cracked and needed fixed right away. I called Bart's car store, they did agree to pay half of the cost of the radiator--a check they promised I would see within a week (in May) however I did not even receive this check until I sent an email about 2 weeks ago and coincidentally they quickly responded that the check would be sent out the following day (in June). However moving on in my story, after the new radiator was put in everything was just fine I was so happy for a week until my car overheated again. Eventually I discovered the fans were not working properly, (the car fortunately came with a Haynes manual) so I checked the Haynes manual and I performed the tests on the cooling fans it called for as well as checked the relays--everything checked out. (I DID NOT change the thermostat because according to the Haynes manual my thermostat was good) So I referred back to my manual only to find out that it now might be the engine cooling temperature sensor. So I bought one of these and changed it discovering the old one was bad, so I did what the book told me to do and my fans worked as well as my cars temperature had now leveled out. Finally I was relieved my car was leveled out and hopefully no problems would occur and again I was wrong. I changed this probably two and a half weeks ago and I have been keeping up on relieving the pressure on my radiator cap (after every time I drive the car + radiator cap was another thing I replaced early on), the last few days I have not done this as frequent because I figured at this time I had my overheating issue under control. Two days ago I was driving home and my car started to overheat so I turned my heat up all the way and thankfully my car leveled it out and I made it home. Now today 6/14/13 had one of the worst experiences with my car yet. I was driving home (one town over 8 miles total) not really thinking too much about the overheating when I realize my car is completely overheated--my dash message states: idle car--coolant very hot--AC not working. Immediately I pull over, shut the car off and open the hood. I try relieving the pressure little by little and antifreeze is pouring out of my overflow hose, so I sit and wait. After 30 minutes of waiting I turned my key to see where my heat was, it leveled out so I tried to make it home. I made it 1/4 mile and the same thing happened AGAIN. Another 45 minutes pass so I decide to try again, this time I made it one mile before the same issue happened AGAIN. I pulled into some random drive way and repeated this same process for 1hour and then I finally decided I needed to try to make it home. Through this last attempt I made it home however as I pulled into my driveway my car was almost completely overheated. So now I am going to at least change the thermostat and take the car to a shop. Furious and fed up with these issues I collected myself and called Bart's describing all my issues to try to see if they would provide any help at all whatsoever and after talking to them and waiting for a response the only thing they can tell me is they WILL NOT HELP ME AT ALL. The only thing they offered to do was trade the car in for a newer car valued at least $12,000. I am 20 years old, I work in a factory, I can barely afford the $5,000 car I purchased let alone a car worth $7,000 dollars more. I purchased this car in May of 2013, it is only June of 2013, I have made 2 payments on this car and spent much more money than planned on everything I have had to replace on this car not to mention the several gallons of antifreeze I have burned through. This is ridiculous, when I bought this car they told me they send all their cars to a shop to have them looked at before they sell them. If they would have had a service shop look at this car wouldn't you think they would have noticed the coolant sensor was not plugged into the coolant reservoir, not only that but wouldn't they have noticed that there was a wire in the connector to bypass the connection? Would the service shop been oblivious to the severely cracked radiator? If you took the time to read this, thank you and I hope will reconsider doing business with any Bart's car store. Thank You More
I am a first time buyer and was nervous about purchasing a car. I meet Thomas the first time I went to look at Kia's. He listened to my needs and wants and suggested a car that was perfect: a Kia Soul. a car. I meet Thomas the first time I went to look at Kia's. He listened to my needs and wants and suggested a car that was perfect: a Kia Soul. I loved it! However, when the Soul could not be purchased, Thomas and his boss found me an even better car than I expected to purchase! They went above and beyond to help make sure I was satisfied and that I was taken care. They explained everything clearly and accurately! Because of them, I am a proud new owner of a Hyundai Sonata! Definitely will recommend them to anyone who is thinking about buying a car, especially Thomas Byrum. More
