I've been researching 4runners for about a year and wanted to buy one a few years before I retire & wanted to stay local. Heres my negative experience active time line. 10/18/18 walk into to basil toyota salesman greets me, I explained what I want, upon leaving we find out that there was a 4-runner that came in last night that he was not aware of. I liked, he made a deal I turned it down. 10/19/18 he calls me with a better deal, I accept and give him a $250 deposit via phone and arrange to come in next week to seal the deal. 10/22/18 I come in to purchase the car. I look at the detailed car and ask where are the running boards that were on the car, he tells me that the previous owner transfered it to another car. REALLY! It was a lie!. CLASSIC BAIT & SWITCH. I thought only shady used car dealers engaged in this type of behavior. I was upset on principal. The saleman said he would get me another set of running boards, so I was content with the offer. 10/23/18 Came in to officially pay for car and pick it up. (there was an issue there but will let it go). My saleman set a date for me to come back and get my running board put back on. 10/24/18 I come in and wait to have the boards put on. After they were put on the saleman calls me out to see them I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT THEY WERE OLD TUBE BOARD FROM A PICK-UP, DIDNT EVEN GO WITH A 4-RUNNER, HE SAYS TO ME HEY YOU NOW HAVE YOUR BOARDS. I WAS SO ANGRY BUT, COULD NOT SAY WHAT I WANTED BECAUSE MY 5-YRS OLD GRAND DAUGHTER WAS THERE. On my drive home being so angry I pull over to the side of the road to call the sales mgr., who agreeded it was wrong and would correct the problem within a few days. 10/2718 I get a call from the my salesman who tells me he will order the boards and will be here in a few days. 10/29/18 I had to call back to check the status, spoke with the customer service people who were NO HELP IN FACT THEY LOST ME ON THE CONNECTION AND I HAD TO CALL THEM BACK ONLY TO GET A V.M. 10/30/18 I get a call from the sales mgr. saying they will be in, in a few days. 11/5/18 I call customer service about my running boards, had to leave a v.m. My salesman then calls me back saying that the boards are still not in. I explain that I wanted the used ugly pick-up truck running boards off my car and why couldn't you swap out one of the boards from a car on the lot. he says they can't but I remind him they had no problem canibalizing my car. 11/6/18 Still waiting As a business owner I realize how important customer service is especially in the social media age. Basil has failed me at every turn. It is so petty if not for the principle of CLASSIC BAIT & SWITCH. This is the worse experience I have ever had at a dealership!!!! and would not reccommend ever coming back to this dealership BASIL TOYOTA. My apologies to all the used car lots who I assumed engage in this type of behavior. AS I CONTINUE TO WAIT FOR THE TYPE OF CAR I PURCHASED IN GOOD FAITH ...BUYER BEWARE!! More
Top notch customer service I took my 2016 Sienna in for Toyota Care service and this was my second visit to this Basil Lockport Toyota dealership. But, before you even arrive t I took my 2016 Sienna in for Toyota Care service and this was my second visit to this Basil Lockport Toyota dealership. But, before you even arrive their excellent customer service is in play. It starts with making the appointment and the follow up e-mail from Basil confirming the date and time, and then a reminder e-mail a couple of days before the scheduled visit. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by Steve, and although I was early, my vehicle was taken back for service before I even got my first cup of coffee. Seriously, my van was out of the service bay and in the shop within 10 minutes of my arrival. Steve made me feel like I was the most important customer that day. By the way, your customer lounge is excellent. You have an excellent dealership and in my experience this type of devotion to customer service starts at the top. So, hats off to the Basil management team for fostering this amazing attitude among the Basil associates. Like I stated earlier, this was my second visit and this trip was equally as good as the first. Thank you. More

Service appointment I had service in a reasonable time and explainations for what was to be done were given in a complete manner. I was treated with respect . I would have liked a little notice that my service package had been completed. I was able to pay the charges without difficulty. The reminder from Toyota did not say what service was to be given. Would not honor appraisal when I brought in my car and lied Today i was ripped off and lied to. My vehicle was appraised at 12000 by James Porco on Sunday 10/7. I arranged to bring it in this week. Today , 10/12, i brought in the appraisal and my 2013 Rav 4XLE. Chris Rados said that James was no longer with the dealership, so unfortunately my vehicle had to be reappraised. He said i can only give you 10,500 for your vehicle. I was fuming and said i don’t care if he works for you anymore or not, you should honor this appraisal. He said i can’t. I had no choice but to take it since I’m moving next week and don’t have time to negotiate another sale. While sitting waiting on my check, i sensed something totally fishy, so i had my friend call the dealership and ask for James Porco. She was told he isn’t working today, would you like his voicemail... She said when is he working again? They said tomorrow 9-6. Liars. Chris came out with my check. I called him on his lie and said i found out james still works here. He said we have more than one James. I said i asked for James Porco specifically... nice try! I said i bought three vehicles here in 12 years. I serviced them here and this is how you treat me? He said I’m sorry you feel that way. Basil, I hope the $1500 you ripped me off for today was worth it, because i will NEVER buy a vehicle from you again. The only reason i brought it to you to sell it is because i kept getting offers in the mail from the GM Shannon Wilsman that they wanted to buy my vehicle. I was given a book value of 13 and told they could offer me more. What a bunch of liars and scam artists. Chris is a lying scam artist. And so is your dealership. Shame on you. Give me my $1500.
