Hello my name is Kevin Bird I am the General Manager of Performance Ford. I apologize that your experience with us was not pleasant. I was hoping to gather more information so that I could investigate what happened and correct the behavior. The car I was interested in was a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant.It was white with 50,000(?) miles. One owner(car rental company from Illinios) I was even on your lot test driving the car with Michael from Performance Volkswagon. I was first called by "LD" ? No name besides that. And the other guy that called me was Aaron Thompson, he said that his boss had set up an appointment for me and he was calling wondering if I had forgotten or was just running late. I still have the voice mails. Anyway, I have worked in sales with the general public for over 25 years and know NOT to treat people with the "shove it down their throats" attitude. You don't make repeat customers that way. Especially with women. I have a great car now....of course nothing will ever replace my Mustang that was totalled...a 17 year old jerk ran into me totalling it. That is what started this whole car shopping crappy adventure.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond. After reviewing the information you provided I was able to interview the people involved. It appears initially you had an contacted us and made an appointment with Jay one of our salesmanagers. A salesperson from Performance Volkswagon (an associated yet competing dealership) came into Performance Ford and asked us for the keys to the car you were interested in, although we were aware he had a guest with him we did not have the name of that guest. He proceeded to show the car to the customer and then left. We were not aware at the time that the guest was you, so Jay asked one of our salespeople Aaron to contact you a couple hours after the scheduled appointment time because he believed you hadn't been in. We customarily contact all customers after missed appointments to try to reschedule. I apologize it does appear from that the salespersons choice of words that he definetly could have been more tactful in his effort to reschedule. At the time of that call Aaron said you told him you were planning on purchasing elsewhere, but he thought it would be prudent to call back the next day to confirm that you actually did proceed with a purchase elsewhere. We use customer contact software to track all guests and it prompted Jay to call you back the next day, he should have reviewed the call history and he would have seen that Aaron had already called you that day, but he did not and so he called again. I apologize for the appearance of being over aggressive and appreciate your input. I have reviewed everything with the people involved in hopes of smoothing out the process in the future. I called and specifically said "I am just calling to see if the car is still available." He said he wasn't sure and could he get my phone number and call me back. I gave him the number and he called back in just a couple of minutes. He then told me that yes the car was still available. He asked me if I wanted to come see the car and I said I was just checking to see if it is still available,and I would let him know if I needed his help. I thanked him for the info and hung up. Now if he takes that as making an appointment, that is sad. I am not and will never buy a car from your dealership! Obviously your salesmanager has some issues and does NOT have the customers best interest in mind. I feel this matter to be unsolveable, obviously. I even got another call from your dealership on Friday February 12 at 10:17am asking me if I was still looking for a car. PLEASE REMOVE MY NAME AND NUMBER FROM YOUR FILES!
