I’ve been a loyal VW/Audi driver forever— but my two most recent deals with Audi Clearwater left me with a sour taste. Our family is growing, so we needed to move up from a traditional sports sedan to the Q5 range with a third row for the little fellas we shuttle around. Even with my long history of vehicles from their dealership, the folks at Audi Clearwater couldn’t get me a good number on a Q5, so I headed back home to St. Pete— stopping by Bert Smith VW on the way. When I entered the beautiful new showroom, I was greeted by lovely Nataly. She got me a cold drink and listened attentively to my story. She didn’t rush or pressure me. She listened and set out to find the perfect solution for my family. I’m usually an easy customer that makes decisions quickly. But with a self-aware 5 year old son, we needed his okay on the new “truck.” As a mom herself, Nataly understands children, and made my son feel like he was a special part of the entire process. She treated my wife with the same level of kindness and respect— which earned our trust. And with the patience of a saint, she allowed us to test-drive just about every Tiguan and Atlas on the lot— until my son settled on the only one with a two-tone, brown/black interior. Then, the family went home. Nataly got the vehicle and paperwork prepped for a seamless and pain-free delivery the next day. I was at the dealership for less than 30min on the day I took delivery. She handled the trade-in of my Audi lease like a seasoned professional. And on a final note, her boss Bill is literally the best General Manager I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with: no nonsense, honest and transparent. All parties left the deal happy. Five stars for Bert Smith VW and Bill, the manager. Ten (10) stars for the wonderful Nataly! More

Don't shop here if you are a woman I'm not sure how George became the General Manager of Bert Smith. Instead of patiently listening to the customer's wants/needs, he will talk over you and use very immature sounds and short words to make you feel put down. Should have walked out when I first realized he was talking down to me and telling me that the options I wanted weren't available and I would have to pay for labor to get the stereo and lights put in. So upset that I didn't go with my gut instinct and drive 15 miles further down the road to the Clearwater dealership. Recommend that for you to NOT go to this dealership if you are a woman or have any care about friendly customer service. I bought the car there bc they already had my info; but they made we wait at a desk for hours while they tended to other customers bc they were short-staffed. Talking to George a week after the purchase was even worse. Never spoke to such a rude GM in my life. More

Blatent deceit When we purchased our Crosstrek on October 10, we were told by Jared McDonald, our salesperson, AND the "document preparation" person (not sure of his When we purchased our Crosstrek on October 10, we were told by Jared McDonald, our salesperson, AND the "document preparation" person (not sure of his name- he had just transferred to the company) that Bert Smith Dealership would handle getting us the "special issue" license plate we had chosen. At Jared's request, we printed and gave him a copy of the "Endless Summer" plate we had chosen. Jared and the document prep person assured us that Diane, the Title Clerk, would handle the entire process. We left the dealership on Oct 10, with a standard FL plate. Jared and the document preparation person told us that Bert Smith would mail us the plate within a month's time. The plate never came. On Nov 17 I learned from Diane the title clerk that the request had never been submitted to her and the process for acquiring a special issue plate had not been followed. End of Bert Smith's responsibility. It's hard for me to believe that a car sales person who's job involves delivering a licensed vehicle to the buyer doesn't know the process for ordering a plate. We trusted Jared. He SEEMED knowledgeable and spent a lot of time acquainting us with the car. Was it deceit or incompetence? Bottom line, we were led to believe we had ordered a special issue plate and the fact is we were deceived by the salesman and the document preparer. Bert Smith Dealership condones it's salespeople being deceitful to close a sale. It makes me wonder what other deceits go unchecked? A new car is a major purchase and the buyer should expect the seller to be credible and honest. There are plenty of Subaru Dealerships find one you can trust all the way through. I am currently looking for other venues to place this review. We are very disappointed in our experience. More
