Most of my dealing are with Kathy Bryan in the service department. I have two vehicles that I have serviced with Betera and I find Kathy to be more than helpful and always friendly. November 14, 2011 Attention: Service Manager James Marinaccio Bertera Auto 539 Riverdale Street West Springfield MA 01089 Dear Mr. Marinaccio, I hope you can straighten out the following situation. On September 28 my son and I drove an hour to your service department because of its high ratings on the Internet. We dealt with Dave French, who diagnosed and then agreed that the navigation system of my son’s 2007 Compass needed to be replaced. Two weeks later we had not heard from Mr. French. It seems he doesn’t check his email, even though it is printed on the business card, and thus had not responded to our request for an update on whether the ordered parts had arrived. It turns out that the parts had arrived but we had not been contacted. When my son went to Springfield in October to have the navigation system replaced, Mr. French discovered that the part which had arrived two weeks before was incorrect and needed to be returned, thus making this trip a needless waste of time and gas. However, Mr. French convinced my son that he should nevertheless pay for and take the Mopar accessory we had also ordered to connect an MP3 player to the system. Given these circumstances, I was glad to see that we were charged $20 to affix license plates to the vehicle. We finally went to another Jeep dealer where the navigation system was replaced without incident. There we were told that the MP3 connector was also incorrect. I am returning it herewith, including the receipt. I expect to have full credit of $138 plus tax returned to the credit card which is on the receipt, or a check for that amount sent to me at the address below. I recently had to have my vehicle serviced at Bertera in West Springfield and I cannot say enough about the service manager James Marinaccio! I had a problem with a squeaky seat that had previously gone undiagnosed. From the minute I spoke with him about the problem he went above and beyond to find a timely solution. When I thanked him he replied, "that's my job.". Although that may be true, this kind of service is not, unfortunately, always commonplace. I will continue to do business with this dealership. At first this was due to the service received from the salesmen I worked with. Now, it's largely due to the serviced received on the vehicle AFTER the sale. Thanks again James:) More
Lie, cheat and steal -- that's what this company considers good business practices. I paid for a complete brake inspection and was told there was nothing wrong. When I took the car to a second mechanic for a second opinion, the mechanic informed me that the rotors and pads needed to be replaced. In addition to the second opinion, I told the bad rotors and pads to a third mechanic--he confirmed that the rotors and pads needed to be replaced. Bertera refused to do anything, stating that the (bad) rotors and pads were normal! Lie, cheat and steal! P.S. I have two new Jeeps. I have been taking them to Bertera for service since they were new. I have never complained about the service that I received in the past. More
A shout out to Dave and Cathy in service. You have been servicing my car since I bought it 2 years ago. Went to a jiffy lube two changes ago. Tried to sell us on crap we didn't want.
