I was always a Ford guy, actually I traded in my 2019 Ford F150 for this new Subaru because I was tired of paying for all that gas and I needed something more comfortable. I am a first-time customer of S Ford F150 for this new Subaru because I was tired of paying for all that gas and I needed something more comfortable. I am a first-time customer of Subaru and after many test drives of other comparable new vehicles the 2024 Forester was the vehicle that was the best. Excellent comfort, plenty of added features and priced right. Now after looking at many Subaru dealerships in the state, I purchased my new Forester from Bertera. They had the exact model and color I wanted, the online salesman was very helpful and introduced me to the salesman Roje Robinson who would assist me in my purchase. Roje was very nice, calm, answered all my questions, took his time to explain the car to me in detail and was helpful throughout the process. I also met Greg Valuckas, very nice guy and seems like he really cares about the needs of his customers. The finance lady Pam Sundara really took her time answering my questions and gave me the best offer to fit my needs. She really cares about the customer and our satisfaction with the overall purchase experience. I will be returning soon actually to purchase my extended warranty through her. I recommend Bertera, you can tell this dealership focuses on the customer and it was a great experience! More
The salesman, Vinnie whom I spoke with was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I don’t accept hard sells and I did not get any. I walked in with prior knowledge based on my online searches for inform courteous and knowledgeable. I don’t accept hard sells and I did not get any. I walked in with prior knowledge based on my online searches for information and walked away with additional information and clarification on the Subaru make and model I was looking at. I did a comparison of other makes and models with other dealerships. I read the fine print and ask a lot of questions. If anything that I have a question about is not listed, I ask. I take copious notes. I am by no means mechanically or technically proficient. We have 5 Subarus in the family, various models and ages and different dealerships. I was pretty sure I wanted a Subaru. I checked on the different dealership ratings for customer service. I make my own decisions. I decided on a different make/ brand of car because I was interested in a hybrid non plug in. I would still recommend Subaru and do your homework. More

The people I worked with did not have the customers best interest in mind nor did they consider the consumer's circumstances. From my experience, my family and I were seen more so as dollar signs rather tha interest in mind nor did they consider the consumer's circumstances. From my experience, my family and I were seen more so as dollar signs rather than valued customers and humans. My family only has had experience with other makes of vehicles but decided to give Subaru a try in our search because we heard of Subaru's great safety ratings and features. We knew our budget and was firm on it, we walked into Subaru making sure Roje was aware as we are low income and money does not grow on trees. After being shown a nice used car that was over our budget, and asking about available and applicable discounts like the student discount, O’Neal approaches us and bargains. We decline as we know our financial capabilities to which he said, "You don't care that I am giving you a good deal, you just want to hear me stop talking." This was quite demeaning and manipulative as they did not have our best interest in mind, being it a couple of hundred or a thousand over our budget, no is no. In matter of fact, the bargaining went on and on and there was a roundabout of explanations thrown at my parents who's native language is not english. We just asked for straight forwardness and consumer transparency. We firmly and finally declined and decided on leaving the dealership. As we are getting into my parent's car, the sales person, Roje, runs back out and tries to show/bargain with me about another vehicle that was older, had more mileage, and more features. Whats funny was the price of this second vehicle was even more than the first but they countered that they, "can bring the price down and attempt to with the manager since it is an older car with more mileage." They know our price point so I trusted them on this and to no avail, more bargaining. Back and forth, up and down. At this point I understood they were trying to make a sale out of us even when not having what we needed. We were adamant on not wasting their time but really our time was wasted. My parent's finally relented to a price that was still a bit over our budget and I thought things were done from there. Unfortunately it was not. Picking up the vehicle three days after, walking in we were waiting past our scheduled time and it seemed like after the sale was made we were not valued anymore. The registration and document signing process came off as rushed and unorganized with comments like, "oh thats weird," "oops let me reprint this theres so many haha," and "wait let me make sure this is right." But that was not the only issue this day. After an hour later, I was finally able to leave with the vehicle and not even 5 minutes away from the dealership on my way home, the cover of the shark fin antenna FLEW OFF!! Clear roads, no debris, slight drizzle. These shark fin antennas were made to be aerodynamic so tell me why did it fly off? Which means, it was already damaged before I took it home. I drove back same day, explained my issues and concern, to which they said I had to drop another $664 for the part and labor in repair. The car part was only $156 so labor was... yup. Then bargained that they'd (O’Neal and Justin) "help me out" by reducing the total pricing and personally they were "losing money" for me. Again with the bargaining. They said this part is surely inspected for every car so I asked about the inspection protocol or checklist, written proof of the damage diagnosis and prices to which they kept beating around the bush, gave me nothing concrete, and provided an informal piece of paper with the written price reduction. I eventually got a hold of that checklist, antennas are not on it. This is wrong. I don't want to believe that I am being scammed because I am a young female student. The vehicle was not even a day old, rather more than an hour old and in no way does an antenna cover just simply fly off. I have gotten legal advice about this. More

Visited dealership after conversing electronically of needs and wants, which one of the primary points was a trade valuation being met. Didn't have a need to purchase whatsoever as my car has low miles needs and wants, which one of the primary points was a trade valuation being met. Didn't have a need to purchase whatsoever as my car has low miles for the age of the vehicle and is in excellent condition. Dealership is a bit of a distance from me and expressed that, meaning that they shouldn't waste my time. Unfortunately, they did exactly that and honestly I will not deal with this dealership again. Upon meeting Vinnie at Bertera, it was a pleasant interaction and I allowed them the opportunity to value my vehicle. Quickly noticed that the manager needed some assistance so he came inside and asked another manager to go out and xxxxx the vehicle (3-people at this point). Knowing what the valuation on my vehicle was in advance by doing my own research from many avenues, I knew what I was looking for and what I wouldn't take. Of course, they came back and low-balled my trade outlining certain items that they wanted me to eat the price on, even after refuting certain points. Eventually, I ended the conversation when they were way out the ballpark of even wanting to do business with me. They reached out a few days later, still low-balled me and told them my bottom line. They agreed, finally, on the price that I wanted but with 3 guidelines I must follow, 1, give them a deposit for a new vehicle, 2, allow them to put my vehicle on a lift to find repairables, 3, remove a negative rating. Essentially, decided not to go with them for their poor interaction and wanting to do business on their terms and not wanting to earn mine. Never thought my vehicle was perfect but it's in VERY GOOD shape but with their nitpicking, they were looking for a deal. Further, their management is pretty bold to ask for certain things, especially removing a negative rating. Negative ratings are removed with great customer service, which they are are lacking. The entire Establishment oozes with predator sharks and the inability to even treat people with any respect. Try again with someone else! More
I didn't end up buying a car here due to Bertera's high prices and unwillingness to negotiate. I was shopping for a lightly used Forester (1 year old under 5k miles) and found 2 listings at two different prices and unwillingness to negotiate. I was shopping for a lightly used Forester (1 year old under 5k miles) and found 2 listings at two different dealerships in CT. Both cars were identically optioned down to the color. Both cars were former service loaners for their respective dealers and had roughly 3,500 miles on them. On their website Bertera was asking $1300 more than the other dealership was asking for theirs. I stopped at Bertera first as it is about 30 minutes closer to home than the other dealership. The salesman was accommodating and went with me for a test drive. When we got back to the dealership I explained that I liked the car but felt it was overpriced and showed him the listing from the other dealership. He wouldn't budge on his price so I ended up walking out and buying from the other dealership. Bertra is close to some other pretty high-end dealerships (BMW, Land Rover, Etc...) so maybe they feel they can attract customers willing to pay more than they should. Having said all that, my salesman was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and did not try to pressure me into anything. Although, I felt the interaction turned a bit cold once he realized I had done my homework and wasn't going to be an "easy" customer. The car I looked at was also extremely clean and well presented. If the prices here were in line with what I was seeing at the other dealership I would have done business here. More
