I purchased a vehicle from Best Cars R Us in Lodi, New Jersey on October 8, 2025. As part of the purchase, a vehicle service contract (extended warranty) totaling $3,846 was added to the transaction. Shortly after the purchase, in October 2025, I canceled the warranty and requested a refund. It has now been approximately five months since the cancellation request, and I have only received a partial refund of $1,100. This amount represents only about one-third of the total amount paid for the service contract. I have attempted to address this issue directly with the dealership, but I have not received a proper explanation or the remaining refund that should be owed. A delay of this length for a warranty cancellation refund is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about how the dealership is handling consumer funds. I have already filed formal complaints with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission regarding this matter. If the remaining balance of the refund is not issued promptly, I will be pursuing further action including filing in small claims court for the remaining balance and any additional damages permitted under New Jersey consumer protection laws. I am requesting that Best Cars R Us immediately provide a full breakdown of the refund calculation and issue the remaining balance owed from the canceled service contract without further delay.
