I recently purchased a used truck from Bill Black Chevrolet. I was told it would receive a full service and inspection before delivery, since I needed to drive it out of state shortly after purchase. The truck was not delivered on time, and I was repeatedly told “tomorrow” for three days with no proactive communication. My schedule had to be rearranged multiple times because of this. When the truck finally arrived, the service work that was represented as completed was not done correctly. The transmission had been significantly overfilled, which caused fluid to blow out while towing, leading to harsh shifting and slipping during a long highway drive. This was not a minor issue — it happened while hauling a trailer, which is a real safety concern. When I initially contacted the dealership, I was told that I “bought a used vehicle” and no assistance would be offered. Only after providing documentation did the dealership change their position. On top of that, within the first few days of driving, I discovered a wheel bearing going bad — something a proper inspection should have identified. This calls into question whether the inspection was actually done or simply marked as completed. To be clear: no one expects a used vehicle to be perfect, but when a dealership promises service and inspection as part of the sale, those things should be done correctly. The lack of communication, the misrepresentation of completed work, and the initial refusal to address an issue caused by their own service department were all unacceptable. I would strongly recommend verifying any promised service or inspection work at a third-party shop before finalizing a purchase here. More
