This review is for Colwell Motors in Mason City, which is owned and managed by the same team as Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson. I’m posting here because the Mason City location is not listed on DealerRater, and owned and managed by the same team as Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson. I’m posting here because the Mason City location is not listed on DealerRater, and customers should be aware of my experience with the Colwell ownership group. I had a very disappointing experience with Colwell Motors. The dealership failed to disclose damage they already knew about, and their management team refused to take responsibility after the sale. Before buying the car, I asked multiple times if there were any issues. I was told there was “one small imperfection.” After the sale, I discovered significant damage on the other side of the vehicle that was never mentioned. A member of their management team later admitted in writing that he saw this damage before the sale, yet it was not disclosed. When I brought this up, the dealership denied responsibility, contradicted themselves, and ignored clear evidence. Their management team refused to correct their own mistake and tried to shift blame instead of addressing the issue honestly. It’s clear from my experience that the Colwell ownership group is focused on making the sale, not taking care of their customers. I would not trust their management team. More

Completely incompetent when it comes to the title and registration process. Purchased a brand new vehicle that I learned when I was pulled over was never actually registered. Went to the dealership to check out a car for my nephew who lives out of state. The car checked out nice and I told my nephew so he called the dealership the next day to purchase the car and was told that who lives out of state. The car checked out nice and I told my nephew so he called the dealership the next day to purchase the car and was told that it had been sold. A week later the car is still on the lot and still for sale. I thought they were in the business of selling cars but evidently I was wrong. More
