Best car buying experience - Thank You Jennifer This was certainly the best car buying experience of my life - going back to my 1956 Chevy. This first ever contact with Bill Kay Chevy was due to d This was certainly the best car buying experience of my life - going back to my 1956 Chevy. This first ever contact with Bill Kay Chevy was due to discount offered by my insurance company - USAA. My initial contact was with JENNIFER SENDERS , made the decision making smooth, efficient, with none of the expected "hard sell" or "must decide today" that I've encountered in the past. Jennifer's first sentence in her initial e-mail was to thank me for my Navy service - something I didn't receive from other dealerships, and unexpected from such a young lady - who also proved to be an extremely knowledgeable and intuitive sales person. Having done some initial research on the net, we came with a set of "must have" - "would also prefer to have" - as well as - "absolutely cannot have" items. Finding no-such-car in their lot, Jennifer immediately went to the computer, helped us narrow the search in a multitude of ways, and after printing out the spec sheets on some close matches, soon came up with a perfect match to our personal specs. The day she got the car from another Chevy dealer, hail was predicted for the area. An e-mail confirmed that she had put the car in one of the service bays for protection, and even sent us a photo to show all was well. As to the price - the 2nd best experience we had was buying a Saturn, with their stated price, no haggling with the sales manager, etc. Not only did we receive the USAA discount, and the Chevy military rebate, but Jennifer also made sure we received several additional rebates/discounts. Our Impala came in way under our anticipated budget. As to the discounts, we had to provide some confirmation data, but Jennifer made sure that was a painless process by not only providing us with a clickable link in her e-mails, but also with instructions as to where to look on the home pages, and what to expect to click. Totally painless. We had ordered an additional key-FOB and a tube of touch-up paint. When there was a slight delay in getting the FOB to the parts department, they gave us the paint for free as a gesture of good will for the delay (which was not of their doing.) We only put about 4,000 miles on the car a year ... and as part of his tour, Shawn made sure we talked with Kevin the service department about the best way to break in the engine, and how to schedule oil changes. No question went unanswered, and they made us feel like their most important customer. Finally, when it was time to pickup the car, Jennifer quickly sensed what I knew, or didn't know, about the many tech and safety features. Her instruction was like having a guru direct from Detroit. She also has reminded us several times to contact her by phone or e-mail with any questions in the future. I.e. she didn't dump us after we signed the paperwork. She would be a gem to any employer in any line of work! In summary - this was a no hassle, honest and efficient buying process. I must give a big Navy Salute to JENNIFER SENDERS whose many e-mails and gracious service were simply OUTSTANDING in every way. I hope Mr. Kay reads this and gives her a bonus! Best Experience !! I recently purchased a 1996 Chevy Corvette from this dealership. My point of contact was Jonathan Forkal, i will tell you that he was the best salesman i've ever dealt with. Very friendly and easy going and a true professional, not pushy and very easy to talk to, i made my appointment with him and drove down to the dealership to see the car in person, he had it washed and ready for me to look at before i arrived. Got there and he went through all the details about the vehicle and answered any questions i had, basically i was testing him to see if he knew this vehicle and he did !!. He knew every detail as well as the history of this vehicle as it had been in his family's. We worked out a fair price for the car and made the necessary calls to fix the minor issues remaining. All the while he returned all calls from me promptly and made great efforts to ensure i was happy with this vehicle. We made the appt. to get the alignment and buffing done and also he was able to get my serpentine belt changed. He also arranged an inspection of the car with their Master Corvette Tech Scott who also was awesome. He answered any and all questions that i had, even the dumb one's and carefully went through all parts of this vehicle to ensure i can drive away with confidence that this vehicle was sound from bumper to bumper. Again a true professional !!..I also met Tim from service and found out it was his dad's car and he also assured me it was maintained at the highest quality also. Even though i spent the day getting the car taken care of, Jonathan was right by my side the entire day and wouldn't leave until he knew i was completely satisfied in all respects, i've never had that experience before. By far the BEST experience EVER !!...i will do all service there for this vehicle and i want nobody else but Scott to work on my corvette as i know it will be in great hands to keep her running. I don't know who was more exited when it came in to the dealership, Bill or I. In fact it came in on a Monday and Bill was off that day, he had found out from his manager that it was delivered and called me at home from his house. I also wanted to mention Don the mechanic who prepped my car, he answered a lot of my questions and did it with a smile, usually those guys could care less about customer service. Don't go to Bill Kay Chevrolet when you're in a sling I went to Bill Kay Chevrolet in March, 2009 -- wearing a n arm sling before surgery -- after an accident totaled my previous car. I was promised the car fax was "clean", that I was buying a good car and that I could bring the car for repairs under the "warranty plan" I purchased. 2 weeks later, the sales person that "sold" me was no longer there. The 2nd sales person also said the "carfax was clean" -- I wouldn't know - I didn't see it. "Frank" told me the tires that had rubbed down to the cords were due to my driving -- even though I had driven for over 30 years and NEVER done that to tires. "Frank" told me the set I had put on to replace the tires that I had "worn down" would need to be bought by me -- after less than 3 months of use. "Frank" told me the next set of tires that would be put on would be put on by the dealer -- by an outside company that came in and had my car for 4 hours. "Frank's" service dept swore up and down they did nothing to "repair" the condition of the vehicle to prevent the tires from wearing down again. The tires finally wore normally. "Frank" insisted the steering problems were just wear and tear and refused to repair my car under the warranty plan I paid for. I have subsequently paid over $2,700 to repair the car that should have been repaired under the warranty plan I purchased. I just finished paying off this car in April of 2014 after 5 years of xxxx -- $2,700 cost me over $4,000.00 if you include interest on the car that was higher due to paying for repair bills instead of the car loan. Unfortunately, I was very stupid in how I handled this fiasco -- don't be as stupid as me -- go somewhere else to buy a car. There might be good reviews on this place on here, but I would bet there are MANY others that are as bad as mine -- I don't know how they could be any worse. I finally had surgery -- it was less painful than buying a car at Bill Kay Chevrolet in Lisle, Il. I'm going to keep track of this rating to see if it gets -- stays -- published. We'll see. More
