Overall Good Finance Needs Work We just bought a plug-in hybrid from these folks. The overall experience was pleasant. Caitlin knew a good amount about the products and seemed very genuine. The one negative was with the Finance department. The lady doing the finance portion was totally clueless about the Washington state tax exemption for Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Instead of admitting that, she made up how she thought it worked and tried to pass it off as fact. I absolutely hate when people feed me BS. She told me it was an exemption I claim on my taxes. Wrong. And when pressed on it she took the "I don't give tax advise" defense (ie "I don't know what I'm saying"). How it really works, per the Washington States website, is that the DEALER will file the exemption and the customer does not get charged state taxes for buying or leasing a qualifying New or Used plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle. They have a list of vehicles on the state website that qualify. Easy to understand and I would have expected the financial department to know that. By the way my vehicle does not qualify (would have been nice to know), but there might be others who did miss out on the exemption due to a lack of knowledge (Used Chevy Volt plug-in, Ford Escort Electric, etc). Long story short. Do your homework before you go and finance should really get a better grasp on how the tax incentives work. Also, never pretend to know something you really don't know. Customers hate being lied to. More
