There is nothing about this service department that warrants a good review. Alledgely rotated my tires, naught. Had to come back. About 7 months ago I came in because my door handle was broken. I was told they would only check the door handle if I paid a $150 "engine diagnostic." I asked why I needed to pay for another engine diagnos broken. I was told they would only check the door handle if I paid a $150 "engine diagnostic." I asked why I needed to pay for another engine diagnostic when I was already paying and getting one for a problem with my spark plugs, no one could explain except to say that's how it was. I declined and got the handle fixed somewhere else. The handle has broken again and I took it to Courtesy Hyundai and found out that the handle was covered under an extended warranty from Hyundai itself. But because I had had the car fix somewhere else after my bad experience with Brandon I was no longer covered. I called Brandon and spoke with the service manager, who was extremely rude and condescending. He accused Courtesy of lying and said that if they really wanted to help me they could have still fixed the handle for free. I pointed out so could Brandon then if that was true and he ended the call abruptly. I then spoke with the GM, who has been much nicer, who said the engine diagnostic I was told I needed to pay for my door handle was "poor wording" and it was just an overall diagnostic. He said all dealerships did this, but I have had my car serviced at both Courtesy and Clearwater Hyundai and have never been charged a diagnostic up front like this. Courtesy hasn't charged me anything for my door handle as they haven't fixed it. He then said there's nothing he could do as I went to a non-Hyundai mechanic. He did say he would give me $50 off whatever quote Courtesy gave me. I'm just upset I'm paying twice for something that I should have never had to pay for at all, this is going to come out to a little over $600 for something that should have been covered. Adding to that the condescending and rude service I received from the Brandon Hyundai service department, especially the manager, has made me not feel comfortable returning to Brandon. More
