Autoway Nissan of Brandon provided by far the most pleasant car-buying experience my husband and I have ever experienced. We began by checking inventory online and calling the dealership to confirm that the two cars we were interested in were still available. Howard Hopkins took the call and went out on the lot himself to make sure they were; he called us back promptly and we agreed to come in. We knew he was the real deal when we pulled up and saw the two cars parked right up front near the entrance. This may seem like an easy and obvious thing for a salesman to do, but another dealership (which is going to receive a VERY low rating from us) repeatedly wasted our time by not being prepared even when we made an appointment to come in. We had driven a few Muranos at that other dealership (OK, it was Courtesy Nissan of Tampa) , so after a quick test drive, we settled on one and went inside to make the deal. Howard impressed us by immediately coming in with a good price on the car--really, it surprised us. Most salesmen will start with the sticker and force you to haggle it down, drop by drop. Howard's number was realistic right from the start, something he said he prided himself on, and rightly so. We negotiated over a few small matters; he carried the numbers back to his manager but never left us waiting for more than a couple of minutes, and we never had to waste time meeting that manager, either. We concluded the deal with Howard very quickly. Then Lindsay McCaw fetched us to complete all the paperwork for the sale and financing. She was lightning fast! This tedious part of the process went as quickly as it possibly could have. The only delay: the detailing of the vehicle took longer than the sale, financing and tag transfer! The service department did an excellent job cleaning the car up (pollen season had done a number on the exterior). Then Howard showed us the car's features in detail and set the Bluetooth hands-free up for both our phones. We arrived home exactly 4 hours after we left, including about 30 minutes' travel time, with our new Murano! The cargo cover we wanted wasn't on the car and the parts department was closed since it was a Sunday. Howard called first thing Monday morning, as promised, to say he had it, and he installed it personally. No one pressured us to buy anything we didn't want to buy; everyone was friendly, fast, knowledgeable and professional. The vibe in the dealership was calm: no balloons, no silly sales tactics. How refreshing! More
