He's also a good salesman that drives a hard bargain without being pushy. I'd hire him right now if I needed someone. Thanks for proving that you can be a great listener, very responsive and show genuine care for your clients; all the while looking out for the bottom line of the business. I appreciate that! Oh, by the way, Warren (manager), Darrel (the numbers guy), and the service manager Jeff, all ROCK! I WILL BE BUYING MY NEXT SET OF CARS FROM THEM FOR SURE AS LONG AS THINGS DON'T CHANGE More
BUYER BEWARE!!!! BUYER BEWARE!! We can all agree that the car buying process here in the US is stressful, frustrating, and long. As a returning customer to Brilliance BUYER BEWARE!! We can all agree that the car buying process here in the US is stressful, frustrating, and long. As a returning customer to Brilliance Honda I was expecting a better than average experience. My daughter and I both bought cars there last August. They made quite a bit money off us. My daughter was trading in the car she had purchased for something a little less pricey. First red flag, barely sat down the salesman, Mike Houston, wanted to run her credit with a hard check!! Who does that? We were there less than a year ago and this girl has extremely good credit. She said no that dings your score each time they check and last year they did like 10 hard checks. We asked about the leasing specials on their site. Somehow a $149.00 leasing payment and $999 down blew up to $199 a month and $5,000 down. Not only that, this was obviously the cheapest car on the lot. You practically needed a pull-cord to start the engine it was so basic. This took over an hour to get to this point. We decided to go to lunch to think it over. We decided to do it. Yes, she would eat some money but that’s how it is when you trade in the first year. Mike went back and forth from his desk to the back, we are all familiar with this silliness. Finally, he came back and said “good news” had a form filled out that said she would owe $4500 down with the $199 payment which she signed. We thought we were on our way to getting this done! Mike kept saying a five more minutes for the finance guy. Over and over. After 2 HOURS of seeing Mike hanging outside to vape with the other 10 sales reps (literally we were the only customers there the guys who were not outside were watching videos on their computers or chatting) Mike comes back and says it would be close to $4800 down. We asked why. He told us he didn’t know to talk to the finance dude. After MORE waiting, we were finally escorted in to see Dan Schmidt. Nobody back there so why did this take so xxxx long? It’s all a big game. Once in Dan’s office immediately I felt tension in the air. It was tangible. He says “Did you figure out the discrepancy with the down payment?” Us? Figure it out? What? In the voice generally reserved for small children or I guess women in his case, he was like let me explain the payoff to you in the tone like what nerve we have questioning the 300 dollar difference. We questioned him. He got angry!!! Grabbed all the paperwork and stormed out of the office. We could hear him yelling to his co-workers through the door. We were both like what is going on here? Bewildered. He comes back, again using that condescending tone, “I will call on speakerphone so you can hear.” He didn’t even get that far again and things escalated again, he grabbed the paperwork and stormed out a second time. Again, we could hear yelling through the door. Finally, he comes back in with this smarmy looking guy who sat down and said "how can I help ladies?" using a condescending tone. I guess they don’t like women here. We did not even respond. Dan Schmidt is yelling at us. We are yelling at Dan. I asked him how the xxxx he could treat us like this we are the customer??? Not to mention the only ones there. I guess they did not want the sale because we immediately left. I am not going to lie. I had some choice words for good old Dan Schmidt and his responses were ridiculously rude. The folks at Brilliance lost two good customers because not only will my daughter never go back again. I will never either and I will tell everyone I know not to go there too. I don’t think I will ever buy a Honda again this experience left such a bad taste in my mouth. Lo and behold, without signing any of the official paperwork we come out to her car to find a sticker on her window and windshield already! What the xxxx? A little overconfident to say the least that they had us suckered into believing their scheme. Nope, you did not give us enough credit for being intelligent enough to know to walk away from a rip-off, bad deal. More

Pushy and unresponsive. My key was not unlocking the door of my Civic. I thought OK I have a 125,000 warranty. When I took it to Honda of Kenosha in mid March 2017 after just My key was not unlocking the door of my Civic. I thought OK I have a 125,000 warranty. When I took it to Honda of Kenosha in mid March 2017 after just spending almost a thousand dollars for scheduled maintenance I told them about the key not working. Service person Joe said the warranty would not cover it because it may have rusted or something and it was probably not broken. Hey if something does not work I think it is broken. The battery in my remote died one day and I could not get in my car with the key in the door. I had to get my other remote. I spend almost a thousand dollars and they can't fix a little thing like that under warranty? I'm sorry I ever got that warranty. I think that cost about $800. Those warranties are not worth the paper they are written on but I gave in to high pressure tactics by a finance person at Brilliance Honda in Crystal Lake, Illinois when I bought the car in 2013. I'm never getting an extended warranty for a Honda again. They are a rip-off. If something is not working through no fault of my own it should be fixed under warranty. It would be a manufacturing defect. And I am never buying a car from Brilliance Honda again because of their high pressure pushy tactics. So about a week later I took my car my car to Brilliance Honda where I bought the car and see if they would do anything. They said that maybe it was a car accident that may have broken it by peeking through some hole in the door. I was not in a car accident that would cause that. They wanted to charge me a hundred dollars to take off the inside of the door to look at it. So I don't know how they could tell anything by peeking through a hole. I said what about the warranty. They said they had to see if it was broken and if it was not I would have to pay. I said if it is not working it is broken. Then they said that when it was in a body shop for a scratch on my car, not from a crash, the body shop forgot to reconnect something with the door lock mechanism. So Brilliance Honda was useless also. If my radio does not work from lack of use or my parking break or my windows don't open or anything else does not work it should not be by lack of use. So I took it to the body shop and they said that that nothing was disconnected and there was no rust so that was not true what Brilliance Honda or Honda of Kenosha said happened. The body shop said that it just failed probably from lack of use. It was not rusted or broken from an accident like the Honda dealers said. And the body shop fixed it for free because I was a loyal customer. But it was not the body shops fault it did not work and they should not have had to fix it but they were kind and not greedy like the Honda dealerships. More
