No car, wouldn't negotiate We researched and found a car on Cargurus with a listed price. After communication with the dealership, we decided to drive up and look. Before we eve We researched and found a car on Cargurus with a listed price. After communication with the dealership, we decided to drive up and look. Before we even saw the car, the salesperson wanted us to sit down and talk price. We said, "Can we at least see the car first?" We looked at the car, test drove it and sat down to talk numbers. The dealership refused to talk price. Told us that the actual dealership price was this, so the online price was already discounted.... then that should be advertised somewhere. Next, we already had our financing approved from another agency, they asked us to please finance with them but they couldn't guarantee the rate we had. Why would we agree to finance with a higher rate? Finally, when we thought they were coming back with a counter offer, the salesperson told us, "Here's the car sales in a 100 mile radius." At that point, we got up and left. That was insulting to think that we wouldn't have done our research prior to coming. I know what cars are in a 100 mile radius because that is how we searched to begin with. Advertising a price on your website and then telling the consumer, "That's the discounted price, this is what we actually want." is fraud. More
