Burlington Kia's Integrity for Sale: $399 I've probably bought 4 or 5 cars so far in my life and let's face it - buying a car isn't a fun experience. We see numbers like MSRP, Invoice, TrueCa I've probably bought 4 or 5 cars so far in my life and let's face it - buying a car isn't a fun experience. We see numbers like MSRP, Invoice, TrueCar price, etc. but we don't really know when we're getting a great deal, or even a good one. As a general rule, I don't fault the salespeople. They're on commission, they have families to feed, and this is the way the business works. But where is the line? For me, I can accept a certain amount of puffing and bluster. "Oh we can't sell the car at that price - we'd lose money" etc. Par for the course. But what happens when you agree on a price - with the sales person over the phone and with her manager? What happens when you put it in a text message just to have it in writing to make sure there is no misunderstanding? At Burlington Kia, it means absolutely nothing. Joe will look at the numbers, and if he doesn't like them, he'll simply say that his underlings made a bad deal and he won't honor it. So there it is - they quoted me on the phone and in a text message $47,000 including the NJ doc fee. Then they welched and insisted on charging me $47,399. Anyone looking for Burlington Kia's integrity? I've got it on sale for $399. More
