RUN. Easily the most negative retail experience I’ve ever had. My husband and I went in knowing we wanted to purchase a new Toyota Highlander. It should have been a quick and easy sale. We arrived on a Friday afternoon with our child in tow, confirmed the numbers were what were previously discussed with sales rep Tim Parker. And waited. And waited some more. Whatever, it’s part of buying car right, sitting in uncomfortable chairs for a while? 2.5 hours in, I send my husband and kiddo home. After I’m there for over four plus hours, with no one asking if I’m good or could go for some water or anything, I get to see the finance manager, Mike Quam. He doesn’t reference any of the numbers we discussed in paper; I have nothing in front of me to reference. He proceeds to sketch out a little graph about the life of the car and warranty options. I say I want the standard, comes with the car warranty. He says so you want basic? Yeah, no frills. Turns out basic is the first tier of their added warranty and he was purposefully misleading about this. Then he “forgets” to count the amount my husband put down to hold the vehicle. It’s a lot of calling my husband (a financial advisor) to sort out all the sketchy xxxx car sales people are famous for. They don’t answer straightforward questions, and ultimately tried to pull one over since I was there solo after 4.5 hours of waiting and desperate to leave (last part is accurate). Every time we redo it, it takes even longer because they are stuck in the 90s (tracing paper!? Join the digital age, Burnsville Toyota!). I ultimately ended up walking away from the car. Even if the end result was the same and we could get them to agree to the math we already did and I got my car, I could not feel good giving my hard-earned money to these lowlifes. I’m sure they will dispute my recollection because they tried to gaslight me all night. Looking forward to going elsewhere, and you should too! More

I have purchased at least 2 dozen new/used cars over the years from various dealerships and I have to tell you my experience at Burnsville Toyota was the worst ever. I purchased a 2015 Ford Escape for $15,0 years from various dealerships and I have to tell you my experience at Burnsville Toyota was the worst ever. I purchased a 2015 Ford Escape for $15,000+ on this occasion for my daughter. They had to detail the car 3 times & it was still GROSS, dog hair , grease marks, sticky stuff in the console, etc. The salesman said they would get it cleaned, they never did. They offered a 6 month, 6000 mile power train warranty, which was a plus because the car was for my daughter living in Duluth. Originally they said the warranty would be good in Duluth, then when we were finalizing the paperwork they said I had to return it to Burnsville for service. I threatened to cancel the deal, at which point the GM, Nathan Dietz, came in & said they would honor the warranty in Duluth. I'll never know unless we have to use it. After we signed all the paperwork & went to leave with the car, we noticed it had less than a quarter tank of gas. I called the GM to ask why they didn't fill the tank and he said due to cost cutting measures they don't include a tank of gas unless you buy a new car. I had to fill the tank before I got home (I live in the north metro). I hope they're happy with the $30 they cheated me out of. My salesman, Tim Parker, knew nothing about cars, I think he said he was selling washing machines before the pandemic. The GM of this "family owned business " was your stereotypical greedy GM who will say anything to make a sale. The only bright spot was the finance guy, Dominic, he seemed to be sincere & honest. So in closing, If you want a good car buying experience, steer clear of Burnsville Toyota. Skip the tricks & dishonesty. More
