I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Capital Chevrolet in Austin needs to be shared, especially for women and members of marginalized communities considering this dealership. In 2023, I purch Chevrolet in Austin needs to be shared, especially for women and members of marginalized communities considering this dealership. In 2023, I purchased a new Chevy Trailblazer from this location and within months experienced electrical issues. The service department offered minimal support, and I struggled to even get a loaner vehicle. Ultimately, the experience was so frustrating that I traded it in and purchased a new 2024 Trailblazer, again from Capital Chevrolet. Fast forward a little over a year and a half later, and now I’m dealing with a transmission leak on my vehicle. When I reached out for help, I spoke with their alleged Service Manager, John Jarvis, and the experience was horrible. I brought my vehicle in at 7 AM and was immediately told there were no loaner cars available, despite the fact that I purchased my vehicle from this dealership. No alternative support was offered - no shuttle, no rideshare assistance, nothing. I made a few calls to other Chevrolet locations in Austin, and they all told me that if I had purchased from them, they could get me a loaner within days. When I returned to John to ask for help with roadside assistance, he told me he would refuse to help me because someone supposedly told him I called him “stupid.” This was absolutely never said. Even after clarifying that, he became visibly upset and began to raise his voice at me. It was loud enough that the service team in the room stopped to look at me. As a woman, the way he spoke to me was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I cannot imagine him speaking to a male customer in the same aggressive, dismissive tone. My father called John to address the matter and when done so, John lied and informed him he did not yell but only gave a stern tone. This is not High School, please leave your service teams gossip outside of the customer experience. I left extremely disappointed - not just in John, but in the broader leadership team. I asked to speak with the Sales Director, Jorge, and was told he was “too busy” while someone shut his office door. No one stepped in to de-escalate or correct the situation. I decided to take my car to another Don Hewitt Chevrolet (thanks for the recommendation Henna Chevy) for assistance due to the unprofessional behavior capital chevy has provided. My family has purchased three vehicles from Capital Chevrolet, and this is the treatment we received. If this transmission issue cannot be resolved, I will never purchase another vehicle from this location again. If your service advisor is John Jarvis, I strongly recommend requesting someone else. And for women, people of color, or anyone from a marginalized community - I genuinely advise avoiding this dealership altogether. The level of dismissive service I experienced is unacceptable and should never happen to any customer. More
