This is the best car buying experience I've ever had. The original vehicle I purchased broke down on me on the road at night. The dealership purchased the vehicle back and sold me another one. What started out as a bad experience ended up unbelievable experience. My salesman Chris handled the situation better than I expected. We have been purchasing cars from Carmax for 15+ years and have been happy with the cars and services. That all changed with the car we recently bought, where our trust in Carmax was shattered. Eleven days after buying a no accident car, we took the car in for new tires. As part of that process, we found out that the right front fender had been repaired and repainted. This information was not disclosed to us by Carmax, and the car's pricing was based on this being a no-accident car. We do not feel that Carmax is a trustworthy place to purchase a car anymore, and is just like other stereotypic used car dealers where "buyer beware" has to be even more top of mind as you can't trust that you are getting all information. More

Started out great, Chris, the associate who assisted us, was great. Pretty much all down hill from there. When we test drove the car I noticed an issue with the front end suspension. We bought the car on Thursday Dec 11 and they made me an appt for the following Monday Dec 15. After bringing the car back it was in their shop from Mon-Thurs Dec 18. We picked it up Thursday evening and went to drive it Friday afternoon and the car would not start. The car could not be towed back until the following Monday, Dec 22. Didn't hear a peep from them all week and the service department does not pick up the phone. Finally got someone on the phone Friday Dec 26 and they tell me they cant even look at the car until Dec 31. This car was supposed to be my Son's first car and Christmas present. Christmas ruined for him and beyond the initial experience -- the one where the take your money -- nothing but a headache for me. More
Everything started out great. When it came to the exchange of funds from my loan institution to CarMax, the check didn’t arrive in time and it was made out to CarMax 19500 Northwa When it came to the exchange of funds from my loan institution to CarMax, the check didn’t arrive in time and it was made out to CarMax 19500 Northwast hwy store. I only found out 2 weeks later the check should have been sent to CarMax auto finance office. The check is being returned to my loan institution and I have to reapply for the loan. I did get the truck I wanted but it was at a higher (two percent) rate through CarMax. My advice before signing, make sure you have the correct address of where the funds should be sent to, and how long it will take to get to the destination, before having your institution send a check. Otherwise, things were pretty straightforward, shout out to Brother Chris and the rest of the brothers in that store, true professionals. More
This is my 3rd car from Carmax and I have had great experiences everytime I have come to the store. Everyone is always so friendly and professional.
