Let’s just say I expected so much more from Carmax. I’m hoping this was just a fluke for them, as I know other people have had good experiences with them. I had a car shipped in from another state, a I’m hoping this was just a fluke for them, as I know other people have had good experiences with them. I had a car shipped in from another state, as they didn’t have one on the lot. Unfortunately, I had to have surgery (unexpected) right around the time of the car’s arrival. I had my trade-in assessed ahead of time so it was all ready to go. I arrived to pick up the car 3 days after having my surgery (never would have been looking at cars had I not had this car shipped in. Was getting pressure to get there, and was worried about losing the money I spent to have it shipped or having them put the car out in the lot for sale). I was told by two different employees the process would only take an hour to complete. My appointment was at noon and lasted til about 4:15. I was car sick when I arrived, then remained sick the entire time, worsened by the heavy cologne scent in the air. Our salesman was new, and needed lots of assistance from the manager. The dealership knew I was 3 days post surgical and knew I was feeling poorly. They apologized several times for the delays, but stated “everyone’s new”. Came close to walking out, but did not want to lose the money spent to have the car shipped. Decided to complete the purchase, handed them a cashier’s check (made out to me and endorsed) and we were told they couldn’t accept the check 🤬. Had to go to bank and get another check made out to carmax. The teller was in shock that they wouldn’t accept the check, as were we. Guess you can’t accept all forms of legal tender, right? As I said, I guess I expected so much more from carmax. More

The truck has been in the shop more than I’ve had it and dealing with Carmax has been the biggest headache I’ve ever had to deal with. Terrible terrible terrible.
