This was our first (but not the last) CarMax car buying experience we have ever had. However, it was quite amazing and entirely different from my past experieces with car dealerships. Larry, our closer, was amazingly helpful and supportive. He answered all our questions and made the closing a truly enjoyable process. We'll come back because Larry took such good care of us. Up to dealing with Melody on 4/9/26, my experience was great at CarMax. Everyone was kind, courteous and helpful. Hence why I’m a returning customer. However, Melody in service wasn’t helpful at all and w great at CarMax. Everyone was kind, courteous and helpful. Hence why I’m a returning customer. However, Melody in service wasn’t helpful at all and was unprofessional in dealing with me as a customer. She assumed I knew her protocol in handling my case land did not communicate her actions until I reached out to get an update. This delayed the service I have been awaiting which is ordering my car emblem. I was originally told I would receive a call once it came in. But Melody transferred the case to another CarMax for whatever reason without communicating with me. Had I not called,, I’d still be waiting unaware of her actions. Nonetheless , I was very unsatisfied with her communication and attitude during the call. As a customer, I should not have to assume I know or read the mind of someone handling my case at the dealership. More
The varying and STRONG opinions about buying an EV were disconcerting. Kayla made it much better than the other two guys I spoke with at the Oceanside location. Do NOT lose Kayla! disconcerting.
