We purchased a 2021 Tesla model 3 with 39,000 mi on it. We scheduled an appointment online and when we showed up we were told that the actual car was not the one pictured. Ours was a different color with considerably more blemishes, but the price would remain the same. The car was advertised to have a relatively high recurrent score of 92. 2 days after ownership the low voltage battery needed replacing, it was then determined that the front occupancy sensor was also bad, which is a pretty significant safety issue. And then just last week, just shy of a month into ownership, the high voltage battery failed. The car has been in the Tesla dealership for the majority of our ownership. There's no ETA on a battery at this point. I feel like there was a bait and switch that happened and we were misled with incorrect photos and incorrect recurrent score. More

The overall experience was decent the salesman Jaden, was attentive and helpful during the process of buying my used 2017 Lexus. Overall not bad. However, I paid to have this vehicle shipped from CO to AZ. With a 125 point inspection you’d expect they check the AC system…well I get the notifica However, I paid to have this vehicle shipped from CO to AZ. With a 125 point inspection you’d expect they check the AC system…well I get the notification my car was ready and showed up for the test drive to find out the AC was blowing hot. It was over 95 degrees that day! Did the test drive and when we got back to the dealership let my sales person know about the AC issue. Got the car scheduled at Carmax to look at the AC. Due to it still being under manufacturer warranty, I was told I should go through Audi to get it fixed. Well Audi confirmed the refrigerant was low and topped that off. I picked up the car and it was still blowing hot. Has Audi take another look and they determined the compressor was shot. That part just happens to be on an indeterminable back order status with no ETA on when the part will be available through Audi. I live in AZ, it’s June 12th and I purchased the car a month ago. I have been without my car for weeks with no idea when I will be getting it back due to this. Big miss on Carmax’s part. More

This is my 5th car from CarMax so I am obviously a happy customer but i have shopped every deal and they consistently offer better trade in and purchase price.
