The buying experience was the easiest car purchase I have ever done. In and out in just under 3 hrs with a trade in. The reason for 4 stars is how long it took them to have the car ready after it was shipp ever done. In and out in just under 3 hrs with a trade in. A car that should have been ready to sell at the location it was at and should only have needed smog and anything else CA requires took them a week to prep for me to come see. I feel like that is excessive. More

So far, the dealership has been nice and professional. I bought a 2014 Honda CRV. The next morning I hear the "cold start rattle", indicating that the vtc accuator gear, the timing chain and the rest of t I bought a 2014 Honda CRV. The next morning I hear the "cold start rattle", indicating that the vtc accuator gear, the timing chain and the rest of the timing components need replacement. The dealership was nice and professional in scheduling a repair date and providing me with a loaner car. I'm hoping the dealership completely fixes the car, including a new engine in necessary, without hassle. More
Making an appointment to see the car I wanted was very easy, and I appreciated that a lot of the process was handled over the phone ahead of time rather than having to sit at the dealership doing paperwor easy, and I appreciated that a lot of the process was handled over the phone ahead of time rather than having to sit at the dealership doing paperwork. When I arrived, all that was left was the test drive to confirm I liked the car and payment, which made everything feel smooth and efficient. The only part of the experience that left a bad impression was during the test drive. I wasn’t able to drive the car myself because I didn’t yet have insurance, which I understand is required by law. However, my advisor, Kim, came across as rude and made me feel embarrassed for expecting to drive the car. I only assumed I’d be able to because when I purchased my first car a few years ago, I was allowed to test drive without insurance and obtained coverage after buying the vehicle. The situation itself wasn’t the issue — it was more how it was communicated that made me uncomfortable. Aside from that, everything else went very smoothly. I liked the car (a 2022 Hyundai Sonata) and ended up purchasing it. Even after taking it home, I never felt the need to bring it back, which says a lot. There were a couple of very minor things worth noting. My advisor did call in front of me and requested that the CarMax sticker be removed prior to delivery; however, it was still on the vehicle when I took it home, which I didn’t notice until a few days later. It wasn’t a big issue, but worth mentioning. I also noticed some very minimal cosmetic damage that wasn’t shown in the photos or mentioned beforehand. It wasn’t enough to make me want to return the car, but it would’ve been nice to be informed. Overall, the process was simple and mostly stress-free, and I’m happy with my purchase. A little more transparency and better communication would’ve made the experience even better. More
