That is when I found CarMax, I filled out all the information for the car that I wanted on their website and literally got approved in a matter of minutes, I had to call the dealership and verify because I didn't believe it could be that quick and easy, it was the quickest and simplest process of buying a car that I have ever experienced. I ended up getting a car that I really wanted, I didn't have to get stuck in a car that I wanted nothing to do with because that's the only one that the bank would put me in it. CarMax definitely turned this crappy situation into a very pleasant experience and I couldn't be happier with the car that I am in. Thank you CarMax!!! More

I spoke with about 5 different people and each one told me they were going to be handling my account exclusively. Not true. Also, each time I uploaded the requested documents the next person asked for more and the person after that asked for more. This happened 3 times. Then, when the car was delivered the driver told me I couldn't drive it until I was contacted by the branch office. Etc. Etc. Etc. More

My experience with Car Max was generally positive The buying process was fast and seamless. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The website was also very helpful. CarMax Westborough Ma is getting five stars today due to sales person Cody Cook. Cody worked with me to find the perfect car with all the bells and whistles I wanted and model that I really liked. I was in a car accident and very nervous to drive or even sit in a car. Cody took good care of me and he was very patient with my questions. It was amazing how quick the whole process was, 3 hours and I was the owner of a new to me car. More
I was not certain which car I wanted, Carmax worked with me to find the car that fit. That car was transported from another site, but at no cost. I decided after a quick drive to buy the car. CarMax offered several support plans, worked through (manyu) documents, but did not push their financing plan. Hurray! The paperwork took time, because they were so busy. That also convinced me that I was in the right place. If you are looking for a used car, they have just about everything. While I was waiting, cars were arriving and leaving on trucks, constantly. We couldn't be more pleased. Fred took excellent care of us. Easy, fast and professional! The whole process of selling our present car, test driving the car we wanted and being a Fred took excellent care of us. Easy, fast and professional! The whole process of selling our present car, test driving the car we wanted and being approved for financing took only a couple of hours. We signed the paperwork and drove our new car home. Fred's boss answered all our questions and was there to snap a pic for us when we were leaving. I know this has nothing to do with buying a car but I have never been in a cleaner restroom. Everyone was friendly and it was an enjoyable experience. I would not buy a car anywhere else, this was our second purchase at this location. By the way , I love my Equinox! More
Coming in for a test drive was fairly smooth. After test driving, I decided to buy the car and that was very simple because I already had my loan approved and waiting online. I asked that they have the car cleaned before I came to pick it up 4 days later and it was filthy; someone else’s hair embedded in the seats and Velcro, Dirty footprints on the leather seats, leaves and tree debris everywhere, I popped the hood and the oil was visibly dirty and overfilled, the air filter was full of debris and acorns. So not only did I pay $350 for the vehicle’s shipping, I paid another $200 immediately after purchasing for oil/filter changes so it was even drivable and I had to deep clean it myself as soon as I got it home. I had to take the time to register it myself because I live over the state line (you don’t have a car max in the state I live who could submit the paperwork? You don’t have a runner?) registering the car required 2 separate appointments because CarMax didn’t provide me with everything I needed. I identified a crack in the windshield while I was cleaning and they did pay for replacement and provided a courtesy vehicle so I didn’t have to wait but had they properly inspected and disclosed the crack beforehand, they could have taken care of it before I picked the car up. 14 days after trading in my previous vehicle, my loan company’s app showed that I still owed a payment. When I called to inquire if my trade had been paid off they wouldn’t even look into it and said “we overnighted a check 5 days ago. It’s on them to cash it. Not us” Um, hello? Is there a tracking number? Is there confirmation that the check cleared? Could you follow up with my loan company to be sure your payment went through so I don’t need to make a payment on a car that this giant corporation owns now? Can anyone help me? The inconvenience and run-around was easily preventable. I’ve never had to do anything at all to purchase a car at other dealers and this was over a week of planning my life around appointments. Customer service staff was rude and crass with the exception of the young man who dropped off my courtesy car at the auto glass shop. I won’t be a return customer. More
