Overall Experience My overall experience with this purchase has turned both me and my wife away from considering any future purchases with CarMax. ⸻ Vehicle Condition Issues Undisclosed Accid purchase has turned both me and my wife away from considering any future purchases with CarMax. ⸻ Vehicle Condition Issues Undisclosed Accident Damage We were informed that the vehicle had been in a “light accident” with the previous owner. However, upon inspection, it became clear that critical repairs under the rear frame had never been addressed. This was completely skipped over when the vehicle was provided to us. Cigarette Odor When the weather warms up, the truck reeks of cigarettes from the inside. This was never disclosed during the purchase process. Repainted Hood It is very clear that the hood has been repainted at a much lower quality compared to the factory-painted panels. Cleanliness Concerns The overall cleanliness of the vehicle suggested nothing more than a quick car wash. This was far below the level of detail and presentation expected when spending nearly ninety thousand dollars on a vehicle. Fuel Levels Both the diesel and DEF tanks were less than three-quarters full at delivery. ⸻ Transport & Delivery Process Transport from Colorado to Bakersfield The process of arranging transport from Colorado to Bakersfield was fairly straightforward, and I appreciated the system updates on the vehicle’s location. However, when I contacted the dealership for a timeline of when I would need to make the 200-mile round trip to pick up the vehicle, they could not provide one. At the same time, I was told over the phone that my transport fee would be forfeited if I didn’t arrive within a “defined” timeline—despite not being given one in the first place. ⸻ DMV Sticker Delay Initial Claim Once the vehicle arrived at the Bakersfield location, I was told that a DMV sticker was required, and that the vehicle would be placed on indefinite hold until it was received. I was advised to wait up to a month for this. Legal Review I reviewed California regulations and found this statement to be an outright lie. There is absolutely no legal or liability precedent in California requiring an out-of-state vehicle with over 7,500 miles to have this sticker. Suspected Motive I strongly suspect this fabricated delay was related to the poor-quality repaint on the hood, but I cannot confirm this.
